Finishing up boards, starting ERAS applications, and having audition rotations - it’s all beginning to feel a little too real, but nonetheless, I am super stoked and excited to start this process!

Hi

fam, what are some things I could be doing at the end of my M1 year to further educate myself on the field and/or get involved? Any tips/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

NBME 29 and 30 were pretty similar to my STEP! I would say the real deal is somewhere between NBME practice exams and UWorld self-assessments!

Don’t compare your accomplishments with others, everyone has a different end goal!
Research your programs early, try your best to get an audition rotation at your top programs!
@ZeldinMD
Thank you! Do you have any tips on how to find volunteer/research opportunities, especially with things not being in full swing due to covid?
@MilanOxspring
Just got off my IM rotation, definitely know the common problems in the hospital, uptodate will be your bestie! Also, write down vitals and any overnight events for patients. Ask your residents and nurses as well since they’re more involved! If you have more questions, pls DM me!
