You can always go for the old standby:
I remain, as always, your most faithful and humble servant, the one who put the bomp in the bomp bah bomp bah bomp, she who put the ram in the rama lama ding dong, sincerely and eternally yours,

I have the social skills for this and they're not passive aggressive it's just that feelings are complicated and there's lots of people.
@KylePlantEmoji
Unironically this is sad because the math you had to invent to build the pyramids was so amazing and this is so flimsy, just. Like c'mon imagine trying to cut a corner brick to the correct angle without a protractor
@MichaelRapaport
Want to do something about it? Watch this video on bystander intervention and practice with your friends:
People don't respond because they don't know how to respond. You can learn! And then you will know what to do if you see something like this happen.

And the core conflict is how do you cope with the paradox of having the power to do anything but not the power to do everything, when all you want is to be good

Took me a minute, but this was shade (oblique insult) implying that a woman/girl (the person who had said "lmao") has "no ass"--a way of saying she's too skinny/unattractive
It's tricky bc she says "girls" which sounds general but she's using it to insult someone in particular

I don't think that's the context, but I can see how it might be mistaken for that.
As an economist, stats guy, and educator, we regularly caution against treating individual observations as representative of underlying patterns. In this context, this information is often+

I ask this out of genuine curiosity because I still haven't been able to understand it. How is this any different than keeping my politics to myself at Thanksgiving or crafting and hewing to a professional persona in the workplace? Don't we all keep some opinions to ourselves?

The Democrats are not "in power." They hold the Presidency and a small (not filibuster-proof) majority of one house of the legislature. Republicans hold one house of the legislature and the judiciary. The reason for "not doing anything" is that there's an impasse in Congress.
I learned what happened at Boston Harbor and Appomattox in school but I was never taught what happened at Mankato, or in Tulsa, or Stonewall, never was taught what a "sundown town" was. If you don't know these things then you cannot understand America.
This is wokeness.

IDK if you asked someone how cold or hot it is on a scale of 1-100, seems like degrees fahrenheit would be pretty close to the average response

It's a hard comic/property to write well. You have to really understand the hesitation to be public/obligation to be a role model, the mask that's not a mask, the universal/particular dualism, the desire to live well competing with the desire to serve others.

Yeah but if you need examples of guys with bad style for educational purposes might as well pick the most reprehensible public figures possible and do some good in the process

referred to as "anecdotal". In this sense I think it has a slightly different meaning--certainly connotation--than the plain English meaning.
I'm careful (but not all stats folks are) not to argue that there's nothing you can infer from anecdote--at the very least it's n=1,+

He's talked about it before. He grew up in San Jose, a very LGBTQ+-friendly place, and sort of just assumed everybody was an ally. He was kind of shocked by baseball's homophobic culture and felt obligated to step up as an ally.

Oh, I totally agree, but I'm not surprised Supes is the one they screw up the most. He's the toughest nut to crack because the premise is often "even if you're well adjusted and incredibly powerful, life will never not be hard". Batman is gadgets and insane people, easy peasy.

Our church just moved to a new building and created all gender neutral bathrooms with all separate stalls and a combined sink area and honestly it simplifies things so much when eg you have to take your kids there, you don't have to pick which bathroom to go to

Like or as: simile
Like this relationship: analogy
Multi-layered: irony
Overblown: hyperbole

Gaetz and Walsh and Peterson aren't reprehensible because they're conservatives, you walnut
Gaetz is a pedophile, Walsh is a shit for brains transphobe, and Peterson teaches young men to hate themselves and women

People forget that things that are statistical regularities matter very little at the scale of the individual. Will a randomly chosen person find you attractive? Who cares? Who is choosing people at random?
This fun thread demonstrates that the value of the bottom 40% of a distribution can decrease even while the median value increases.
That's right!
Fortunately, this theoretical argument does not apply to the distribution I discussed.

When I voiced homophobic opinions at the age of 20, my LGBTQ friends were right to tell me shut the fuck up though. Weren't they? Maybe you and I have a genuine political disagreement?
I was being an asshole to my friends; I'm genuinely curious for the counterargument here...

I swore once I quit customer service that I'd never forget that the person I'm talking to is working and I have the power to improve or ruin their day and I should be kind, try to make sure to be as generous as possible, with patience and w money. Why others don't get that smdh
