metta finally experientially clicked that love & forgiveness is for everyone i had the classic "but forgiveness means i'm saying it's okay it happened, i'm spineless, i won't set boundaries" i knew conceptually i can keep an open heart to things that hurt me, but now i *get it*

day 3 buteyko breathing to stop snoring/apneas slept mostly through the night, throat is extra sore though. this graphic from "Sleep with Buteyko" makes a lot of sense as to why, if we are indeed tending to chronically hyperventilate

day 4 buteyko breathing for snoring/apneas/less sleep still woke up with immediate inhales/exhales, so not there yet on affecting subconscious sleep breathing. control pause of 30s upon waking though, which is a big improvement over initial ~18s. ~75% of automatic breaths

i had never ever questioned the fact that i inhale the moment i'm done exhaling by default. this is "chronically hyperventilating" according to Buteyko. the ancient lore is that we're supposed to feel normal chilling out at the end of the exhale up to 1+ mins!!!

If an emotion wasn't allowed to be felt all the way through, we tend to try to recreate the circumstances that caused it, so that the emotion can move. Once the emotion can move all the way through you, the circumstances stop getting recreated.

i’m so Burbea-pilled, holy. three massive pillars i resonate strongly with so far: integration (of jhanas), play, and somatic. integration - “absorb the jhana as much as it absorbs you”, so there’s no rush, don’t shoot through the jhanas and acquire them like achievement badges.

i used to think to myself “i should continue doing X for another 30 minutes because it’s good for me” unknowingly hitting myself with coercion now when “i should be doi-“ and the self-hitting sensation arises, i intuitively sidestep it and proceed to do it for 3 hrs effortlessly

starting stats: - mild apnea, high narcolepsy - 8-10+ hours sleep that never feel well rested - need nap in the afternoon consistently, still not well rested after that either - narcolepsy is minor and better rested after intense exercise, only thing that has ever remotely worked
