I read a lot of horror books but I have never used the word frightening to describe them, creepy &disturbing sure, but frightening? This book is FRIGHTENING, it's something special, about half way through &this is THE book of the year 😱 have I said the word frightening too much

I volunteer at a special needs centre for adults and sometimes we go out in the community for activities, I get so angry that people, GROWN ADULTS think its ok to stare and laugh, it's heartbreaking that some people can be SO cruel, I'd love to bludgeon them.

Exceptionally eerie and unsettling, a genre blending horror that has strong lovecraftarian elements, the prose was beautiful and felt deceptively peaceful, you don't seem to realise the horror breathing down your neck until it's too late thankyou @dark_matter_ink @serialsemantic

..for fans of A Head Full of Ghosts this was a tense psychological family drama with a supernatural backdrop that infuses every page with a visceral sense of unease &terror, if you love themes of ghosts, hauntings& possession you'll be right at home(but it might(will) be haunted)
