One of the best TV series I've seen. The equal of 'True Detective' S:1 in horror imo. May also be the grimmest show I've watched. The despair! Fabulous writing, acting & set design. Mirroring the effects of the novel, you may even feel a bit cold and vulnerable @TheTerrorAMC

Red Folk country. A place that inspired my short story - 'Wyrd' - and the camping scene in The Reddening. I could almost hear that wretched piping from the hills again, as the 'Folk appeared atop the slopes. There is no escape when they descend in their hunting circle.

TV Rec': Channel Zero. All four series have been terrific: imaginative, ambitious, fresh, original. Finding the last two has been an ordeal but there is now a region B bluray collection, bringing together all 4. Recommended for fans of quality horror. Get some.

When I approached this remote cave, as if disturbed by the faint beat of my paddle, an unseen occupant flopped about inside. I judged it to be the size of a bull with appendages that slapped around the walls and ceiling. Back-paddled out, gibbering. The Bay provides and takes.

During lockdown I started to drink cider again. Not sure I've touched it since my teens. Goes well with a book on the patio outside my office, in late afternoon sun, a little metal on the stereo. Local distilleries deliver it to your porch too! Right time to read The Stand too.

While I worked last week, the girls built an effigy of a pagan god in the living room. Soon it will be take its place in the porch. I anticipate fewer trick or treaters this year. Those brave enough to ring the bell will not dare speak its name ... I kneel before it nightly.
