I read Nadia Shammas & Marie Enger's Where Black Stars Rise. This graphic novel is such a wonderful riff on The King in Yellow, expanding on the original’s legacy while pushing forward into uncharted terrain. I’ll never look at a pomegranate the same way again. On shelves 10/22.
