Prince Ghulam Mohammed youngest son of #Tipu Sultan. Around 1854 he visited Britain to try & convince the Govt for pension for the family who had been removed forcibly to Calcutta after Tipu’s death & were destitute. 6 yrs later a one time grant of £500000/- was approved #History

The wrestler brothers - Gama Pehalwan (Ghulam Mohammad Baksh 1878-1960) & Imam Baksh Pehalwan (1883-1977). Both received patronage in various royal courts. After partition the family settled in Lahore. #History #Wrestling

Maharaja of #Jind , Ranbir Singh, had a crush on Olive Monolescue whose parents were Anglo-Romanian. Ranbir bought her for Rs.50,000/- & married her in 1900. She converted to #Sikhism & became Jaswant Kaur. The British never accepted Olive & she was never called Maharani. #History
