Speaking for orthopaedics only, I found sending letters of interest pretty low yield. Instead, I’d recommend utilizing faculty mentors and have them reach out to programs where they have connections. Guaranteed, this will move the needle much more! #orthotwitter

@shazaqk Might be controversial around here but UWorld has become way too superfluous. There is so much high yield nbme content for CK (nbmes 6-11, 20+ subject exams) that gets overlooked. Highly highly suggest reviewing as much as possible!

@orthotraumamd I think MRI has been first-line to detect occult hip fractures, but I have read recent studies that have shown CT scans to be just as effective and require less time in the scanner as compared to MRIs. Would probably lean towards hemiarthroplasty given age.

1. Even though Step 1 is P/F, I still recommend dedicating yourself to the exam fully. Much of the fundamentals and core principles will be applicable during your clinical rotations and on Step 2, both of which will likely play a larger role in residency selection. /2
