I’m thrilled to share that I took part in three minute thesis (3MT) competition organised by
@cogsmsu
and won the second prize! This year the theme was ‘innovation for tomorrow’ and I had fun presenting the importance of fundamental research for innovation to a general audience!!
Had a great time at my first
#photochemistry
@GordonConf
, excited for the new collaborations! My poster got selected for a poster talk! It was a great feeling to give my first talk at GRC! Grateful to be part of this community! Thanks everyone and can’t wait for 2025!!
I was very fortunate to get an opportunity to talk in the ‘photocatalysis for energy applications’
@BioLECEFRC
symposium organised by Greg Scholes in the
#ACSFall2024
meeting in Denver. This is one of the projects that I independently developed in the McCusker group
@MSUChem
Prof. Micheal Grätzel took us through his inspiring research journey on molecular photovoltaics and solar fuels by delivering this year’s Max T. Rogers Lectureship! I was fortunate enough to organize a grad student lunch with Prof. Grätzel! One of the dream comes true moments!!!!
Just wrapped up an amazing time at ACS Spring in NOLA! Presented a poster at Jim's Josef Michl Award Symposium & gave a talk on Cobalt(III) photophysics. Engaging with field leaders every day was a blast including reconnecting with McCusker group alums.

@MSUChem
I had a fantastic time last week at the 45th
#ICCC
conference presenting my research at Fort Collins. Many thanks to the organisers for putting together the photochem symposium - met some amazing chemists, friends and learned their unique ways of approaching chemistry
@Iccc2024
Thank you
@JosephJGair1
for giving me the opportunity to share my work at your group meeting. I love talking Science and no doubt it was one of the best experiences to present my fundamental physical-inorganic research work in front of brilliant organic chemists at
@MSUChem
Huge thanks to Atanu
@ghoshata96
for joining our group meeting to share work on exploiting the Marcus inverted region for designing cobalt photocatalysts! A beautiful illustration of fundamental studies enabling new technologies.
Presented my recent results on Cobalt chemistry at BioLEC All-hands meeting
@princeton
.…can’t wait to explore new ideas through new collaborations within the centre. Grateful to be a part of

I learned ways to visualising how magnetization vectors rotate with different pulses and gradients in NMR from N. Chandrakumar
@iitm
during my MSc. In the last group meeting I introduced how logical these pulses/gradient sequences are and how we get unique information. Fun times
Had a great time at Inter-American photochemical society (I-APS) conference at Destin, Florida. Got to meet leading scientists and discuss exciting science with plenty of drinks…I won one of the Graduate student best poster awards as well.

Had a great time with this team interacting with the next generation scientists during the ACS chemistry week outreach!! It seemed like they loved our leaky faucet experiment the most.
Collaboratively, CGSO and Women in Chemistry at MSU came together to orchestrate the ACS Chemistry Week Fall 2023—an impactful outreach initiative hosted at Impression 5 in Lansing!!

These complexes were utilized to achieve challenging Carbon-nitrogen bond formation, as well as other decarboxylative C-H functionalization and C-H phosphonylation. It's a significant step to move away from expensive Ir(III) and Ru(II) and use first-row-based photocatalysis.

Thank you JD! Even though didn’t get to do what we wanted, I understood how to look at a transient absorption data!! That was a big plus for me before starting grad school!! So grateful for everything now and always♥️ can’t wait to visit TIFR again sometime soon.
These ES are fundamentally different than traditional charge-transfer excited states, however, the amount of potential these Co(III) ES store is incredibly high, and kudos to everyone involved from
@MacMillan_Lab
to achieve such wonderful chemistry!
