Just read that JP Morgan was using mining cost as a bitcoin fundamental. Determining price from production costs is somewhat rational in a competitive market, except for bitcoin. Difficulty adjusts to set mining cost at price. They need a copy of Cryptoeconomics.

Bitcoin is not useful because its PoW is “costly” - mining is as profitable as all other production. Nor because its units are “scarce”, as scarcity is common to all property. Bitcoin is useful because it is fungible property, tradable electronically, without state permission.
