Life is pain . . . and anyone who tells you differently is selling something.
I have 3 prec(oc)ious children, a loving husband, and I survive on laughter.
@CatholicCharm
The weekend my brother and I were born (twins), two other sets of twins were born at the same hospital. At one point, the nurse brought my brother to my mum for feeding, and my mum kept going like, "something isn't right here . . . " So they double checked and it turned out it

He's impulsive, demands hugs and gifts, and steals money, yet criticises a 19-year-old, an actual teenager, for behaving like . . . a teenager? What the actual . . . ? Nah. He has issues. To say the least.
@PhoenixButerfli
@CatholicCharm
Yeah, kinda crazy! This was back in the 80s when they put all the babies in nurseries. And really, babies kinda all look the same, so I sorta can't blame them. One nurse there was a real jerk to a mum though, like she specifically said "no, I do not that drug when I'm in labour"

To be fair, his face isn't plastered on the front of Sports Illustrated Magazine advertising himself an ideal modern beauty.
@MurrayCampaign
Instead of this, why don't you focus on empowering women to be good mothers and men to stand up and be good providers? Stop the whole "a baby will destroy your future" false narrative. Give women resources, support, and hope.

I'll admit that I'm a little concerned by how many women commenters here think that one cannot have a period whilst breastfeeding.

When my brothers and I were kids, one of our babysitters tried convincing us all (herself included) to try using a blanket to parachute off the roof of our house. Fortunately she chickened out and my brothers and I were also not interested. We loved her, but not a very bright

Is he volunteering to provide a babysitter?? I sure would have loved that when my husband was in the navy and I was on my own with my son for months at a time. I mean, I really enjoyed and treasure the memory of those cereal aisle melt-downs, but if he's offering, that's cool.
@clhubes
We named our 6-year-old daughter Florence. But her naming was a little unconventional. Do my husband and I have Florences in the family tree? Sure. But is she named after them? Nope.
When I was suggesting names and said "Florence," my husband tagged on "of Arabia," and I

My company prefers to hire people who haven't gone through the system. Their knowledge are 8 years out of date and they require extensive re-training. But hiring someone who is self-taught is a much easier hire, and they've already got that natural keenness for learning new

Mine does, but that's mainly because despite working a 9-5 job, I can basically leave work whenever I want to. Nobody can boss me around. And my boss puts family first.

Happiness isn't the right word. We have happy moments, joyous moments, and frustrating moments. But these are all passing feelings. But ultimately, with him, I love him and I am content, which is what I want and what I have always wanted.
Unpopular opinion: having children is not a right.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's great for people to have children, but acquiring them by any means necessary? Nah. Surrogacy, IVF, and a large part of the fertility industry just turns women & children into a commodity.
@kisstheblade_
We had a no-host bar for our wedding. Nobody made a big deal about it. 15 years later friends still tell us our wedding/reception was one of the most fun they've ever attended. We somehow managed to make our reception fun enough without having to fund alcohol.

As a proddy convert, this took me a little while to adjust to, but the simplest thing a Protestant ought to be able to accept is that a dead Christian is not dead and is in heaven. I mean, they go on about it ALL the time (esp since they don't even believe in purgatory). So for

Yes. My kids weren't really ready until they were 4 (just barely made the cut for pre-K). I've known other parents whose kids struggle with overnight into age 6+, and that's ok. No need to rush a kid who isn't ready. Potty training isn't an accomplishment or a failure.

So on the one hand you say the government doesn't need to do it, but then you immediately say that the government needs to enact land use bylaws to restrict options. Government involvement doesn't allow communities to develop organically. It gets in the way.

Wow. But here's a positive: I had to go in for a test at the UofA hospital. I was also suffering a massive migraine, and wearing a mask just aggravates it, so I did not wear one. Pretty much nobody bothered me.

I mean, the funny thing about the pronouns is that the only time you use those particular ones is if you're talking about someone when they're not around anyway, in which case, who even cares what you call them? They're not even there. If someone wants to call me "he/him/dingbat"

LOL, reminds me of when we went to mass and they'd finally figured out how to distribute holy water since the fount was off -- a spray bottle! An usher sprayed it on my three-year-old's hands and what did she do? Rub it all over her hands like it was hand sanitizer. Well, sorta?

Honestly, I'm glad that the +38°C is more rare. It's impossible to escape the heat, but easy to bundle up to get warm! Plus, I like all the cozy things, like my dogs, children, blankets, hot chocolate, fires, movies, eating comfort food . . . :-)

Lol sure, Danielle Smith was going to just snap her fingers and fix all that in, what, less than 5 months? That's realistic.
Are you aware that Smith's chief-of-staff personally battled homelessness & addiction? So if you think it's not on her radar, guess again.

Catholics don't believe Dems should be booted from the church. Catholics believe people who are unrepentantly sinning should be corrected for the sake of their own soul and received back into the Church.

I'm curious, how did this topic, and his position on it, come up in class? It seems odd (though I know not entirely far-fetched, after all, my son's grade 4 teacher told him he'll was made up) that a Catholic teacher at a Catholic school would be expressing non-Catholic teaching.

Are you saying this (the overreach people are concerned about) ISN'T something that some people in government might want?
Once you start implementing these sorts of things, it's just a matter of time before it creeps in, and once it's there, it's nearly impossible to reverse.

My kids are mixed-race. They're half-American and half-Canadian. They're definitely the cutest kids I've ever seen. I'm totally not biased at all, and that's a thing, right?
