@fahd_ibn_ala Shaykh al-Islam Badr ud-Din Ibn Jamā’a and Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymīyah were actually very good friends. Ibn Taymīyah even said that Ibn Jama'ah was his best friend and that he knew no one more loyal to him than himself.

One of the greatest Hanbalites, Shaykh al-Islām Abū al-Mawāhih al-Ba'lī, was one of the Hanbalite imams who counted the aša'rīth as Sunnis. Not only that, he even referred to their scholars as Šaykh al-Islām. He reffered Ibn Hajjar al-Haytamī as Šaykh al-Islām.
