@oomfmagazine It's $18, that's not an expensive luxury. If you're already going to the airport it's a trivial amount to get a convenient drop off. This is the cheap option. If you don't want to be around poor people, just book a regular Uber, which is more expensive but much more convenient.

@meaning_enjoyer Dogs aren't embarrassed to experience shame, so they'll let you see it. Cats are embarrassed of their shame, so they hide it. Bottle it up, and hide it away so they don't have to acknowledge it. And then someday, when you're away, they'll take a dump on your best duvet. 😿

@itinerantfog Instead of a weighted blanket I fill a trash bag with spaghetti and meatballs and put that on top of me. Which really helps me sleep well. Probably because my mom was always craving italian when she was pregnant?

@mollyfleck I walk most of the time. While walking I've never had a near miss with a car, and never been hit. I've been run over by a cyclist once, and regularly have near misses while in crosswalks and even sidewalks. I don't hate cyclists, but I wish they followed basic rules better

@earthcounter Most stars in the sky are like our sun, or smaller, and so they'll live for billions of years. It's only the small percentage of very large stars that last significantly less than that. So, Paleozoic sharks would've had a beautiful night sky to look at (and no light pollution)

@cd_hooks A plain donut is probably 200-300 calories, and a reasonable sized milk drink is maybe 100 more? So 350 calories for breakfast? A breakfast at a diner (eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast) can easily be 2-3x as many calories. A macchiato at starbucks could be 250 by itself.

@WholeMarsBlog What's a little scary about this is that the legal questions in Brazil have nothing to do with Musk personally, and absolutely nothing to do with taxes. But Ruffalo's conclusion is that Musk should be taxed heavily. He sees taxes not as financial, but a moral tool of the state.

@DonteLamonte I mean, a shuttle service and a bus are just different things? A shuttle you can book ahead of time so you can be sure you have space. It's also usually direct/"express" so there's much less chance of schedule problems. And the departure time is more reliable.

@lisatomic5 I think The Expanse did this really well. They had people who were experts in different fields that had to work together. And then occasionally they'd also have two experts working together. The differences in how they talked to each other in those situations was great.
