among other things: rochester NY is a majority Black city with a long history of radical politics/activism. you wouldn't know this looking at electoral maps bc this reality has been gerrymandered nearly out of existence to preserve white representation in albany and congress.

I’m really fed up w the idea that those who own property in the gilded city have the same struggle w those who don’t. Yes, there are small landlords. Yes, our mvmt wants to get them resources. But let’s also be real abt who has wealth and therefore options, and who doesn’t.

If landlords in NYC during the hottest real estate market ever couldn't build a few months of cash reserves to cancel their tenants' rent when a pandemic hit, then they shouldn't be landlords. They won't take a temporary hit to help those much poorer than they are. That's it.
