In the past 5 years, the S&P has increased an average of 17.49% year over year. While $VTI increased 16.3% over the last 5 years $Voo increased 17.59% actually beating the S&P No matter which of these you are invested in, it sure does beat the average wage increase of 4.5%

@Investmentkage Keep investing. The house will compound in value at a much faster rate then the paying off the loan. Even if the loan was 5% and the interest rate on their investment was 5%. The mortgage is amortized over 30 years, so it’s not a 5% annually like an investment is.
