Our review "The Nucleolus as a Multiphase Liquid Condensate" is now out Nature Reviews in Mol Cell Biol. Great collaboration between our lab @SuperSciJew and @LafontaineLab . The amazing nucleolus was identified 200 years ago, & still so much to discover!

So excited to share our work: We combined expts and sims to figure out how oligomerization can drive condensate immiscibility! Surprisingly which IDR is oligomerized matters i.e. asymmetric! Only possible thanks to our interdisciplinary super team, glad to have been a part of it!

We performed a functional dissection of ARID1A/B, and found that the large N-terminal disordered region and DNA binding ARID domain, which are dispensable for assembly of the complex and enzymatic activity, facilitate biomolecular condensation of cBAF!

Great to have this paper finally out! Congrats to all of our amazing collaborators who helped make this happen, including the exciting new additional data added since biorxiv version was posted. The nucleolus gets more and more interesting by the day... (and stay tuned :)

Tom Boddeker was a visiting @SoftLiv_ETH student who came to us March 2020... a few weeks before Covid wave came ashore in US. Tom was forced to fly back to Switzerland & left us this note "see you in a few months", preserved since then. Now, 2.5 years later: welcome back Tom!!!

First in-person lab retreat in 3 yrs... & I am not there due to +Covid test! (all ok, only mild symptoms). The team still having a great time (including cake & champagne celebration of BT prize!), sporting their new *Soft Living Matter Group* shirts. Amazing group of scientists!
