Poets. There’s no problem with promoting your own work or broadcasting your writing and NO need to apologise for doing this. It’s best done, however, when you promote other people as well and have a sense of community otherwise it can come across as overly self-orientated. 👍

There’s a terrifying talent drain with an accept/ reject policy in poetry. Most of the accepted poems in Black Bough II had minor editorial suggestions put forward and taken on board by open-minded poets. Tiny, tiny changes can make impact and a big difference.

Yep, people probably don't realise what a joy it is to read submissions from poets who are unknown, neglected and don't know how good they are. Some only have a shred of confidence and its taken them years to submit. You read it and go - 'wow' - or 'that's interesting!!'
