My friend Adrian would have been 43 tomorrow. This poem was published in 'Close Up' by @orchardleabooks - an anthology of poems about cancer, grief, healing & hope. All book proceeds go to cancer related charities.

to add to this, a well published poet pal showed me a FB post where one of his poems on a poetry site got over 4k likes which is kind of incredible.Then a radio station asked him on to read it. His publisher said that with all this activity he sold an extra, wait for it, 8 books!

Shout out to the poetry editors who do it out of love and passion because I can tell you from first hand experience it’s certainly not done for money - because there is none. All income goes back into publishing the books, running the websites, ISBN, paying illustrators etc.

Recently my little boy spent 5 nights in hospital with serious respitory issues. Now that all has settled & he is recovering well, I'd just like to say how well the nurses and doctors looked after him & us at Altnagelvin Hospital Derry. Where would we be without those at @NHSuk ?

Got some nice acceptance news today from a cool journal I haven't been in for a while. Looking forward to sharing it towards the end of the month. Oh and I put the finishing touches on a new poem yesterday too. Happy writing all!
