Actor. UK Agent - Matt Chopping - Innovate Talent Management. Writer. Casarotto Ramsay - Mel Kenyon -casarotto.co.uk/client/andrew-… My Views Are My Own
Hundreds of absolute cockends lapping up David Icke’s absolute verbal fartage in Trafalgar Square. They prefer to believe the rantings of a man who believes the world is ran by shape shifting lizards rather than every credible scientist. Dicks.
@jo55adams
@piersmorgan
Never never NEVER thought I’d be on the side of
@piersmorgan
but he’s really asking the questions of this government that need to be answered.
So there’s a massive fire engulfing Saddleworth Moor. People are being evacuated, and the national media and news aren’t even covering it. Freezes my piss the geographical imbalance of what’s deemed news worthy. If this was happening south of Watford it’d be wall to wall.
I want to direct the
@alranorthdrama
in a final show if that would be helpful to them. A venue in Manchester would be great to showcase their talent.A few nights. How does that sound?
It’s quite mad to think that here in Manchester we’ve been in a state of lockdown since last October. We’ve barely been out of some form of lockdown for over a year. Be kind to yourselves and other over the coming days and weeks. It’s going to take some time to adjust.
I really hope
@BBCTwo
and
@bbccomedy
commission a second series of
#AlmasNotNormal
. Like a berk I binged the whole series as soon as I could.I sang it’s praises then and I do now. I still think about it daily. It’s exceptional.
@sophiewillan
is incredible as are all the cast.
@sallycarman1
is just a brilliant actor. Phenomenal stuff she's doing in this tragic and heartbreaking storyline on
@itvcorrie
. Literally blows me away all the time. Top top work mate.xx
Waiting for a theatre to announce a programme of plays that aren’t so predictable and safe.We get don’t have to pay Shakespeare and Chekhov.Use some of your Cultural Recovery Grant and pay a living writer.
@lisanandy
We don't matter up here. Only useful when our votes are needed. We've had enough. I don't think this government understand the anger and resentment we feel. Cut off. Cast aside. Lost.
Associate Artistic Director

directs a new version of Emily Brontë's WUTHERING HEIGHTS by

Experience a very different side to literature's most electric couple in this gripping reinvention of the classic tale.

@SamCoatesSky
Tactical voting was huge in the local elections. I voted Lib Dem because there was no chance of Labour winning in my ward. In the GE I, and everyone I know, will be voting Labour. And I live in the Graham Brady's constituency that he's stepping down from. A massive Labour gain.
As an actor and writer working in theatre and TV/film it’s clear that something seismic is happening. Can anyone explain what’s actually going on and why? There have always been quiet times but this feels different.
Binged the whole of Alma’s Not Normal.
@sophiewillan
I think it’s a phenomenal piece of TV. So very funny but also perfectly counterpoised with shards of sadness and melancholy.Its not scared to be political without it slapping you round the face with a guardian newspaper.
It's time to introduce you to the cast and creatives of Nora: A Doll's House🏡
This incredible play is a muscular domestic thriller that packs a punch - a battle cry, a roar, a ripple of hope.

Day 1. Wuthering Heights. As I prepare for rehearsals
@rxtheatre
my 5 year old daughter has smeared my feet with lukewarm Weetabix. An occurrence I imagine happened daily in the Brontë parsonage.
Swings and understudies are keeping the West End alive and performing.Manchester should have its own network of actors made up from those who live in the Greater Manchester area to help theatres continue to run while we have to live with Covid.
Some theatre folk moaning and sneering that tweeting THEATRE is wrong. Give me a break and get of your posturing pedestal. People are furious. People are petrified. People feel helpless. Shout it from the rooftops. And don’t feel shamed into silence.
I hope I'm not the only writer really struggling creatively throughout this thing. I had the best intentions to write another play. That's probably not going to happen. How have others found it? Just interested.
Ends of Day 1. Wuthering Heights. So it’s proper hard to hear your play read aloud. It exists in a cloudy vacuum until the right people voice it. What a cast of special and talented actors. Each one of them unique and exquisite. So very very blessed.
On a more positive. I start directing something incredibly special very soon. The Mancunian premiere of a play by an exceptionally talented Stopfordian. It’s going to be a bit mad. Will say more when I can.
If last nights
@BBC
coverage of
#LocalElections2024
was a dress rehearsal for the General Election in the coming months, I'd recast Laura Kuenssberg with someone who isn't blatantly a Tory cheerleader. It was utterly embarrassing to watch.
@vicderbyshire
gets my vote.
Thinking of all those artists and creatives whose hours of theatre making are probably going to effected over the coming months.Carry on supporting our theatres throughout the emergency.We’ll need them more than ever when this blows over.
I start working on a new tele gig next week and the director rang me today just to have a chat and see how things are. That’s never happened to me before in the 20 or so years I’ve been working as an actor. It was so thoughtful.Maybe the green shoots of change starting to show.
@mrjamesob
@DPJHodges
tried his best. He's now moved onto how a 1000+ loss of Tory council seats is actually a poor result for Labour. Couldn't make it up.
Me + Sarah Frankcom go back over 20 years.We were two strange and awkward oddities trying to find our way.I owe her so much.She nurtured me as an actor + championed me as a writer.We are strangely similar yet quite different, the foundation of any genuine and beautiful friendship
Reckon 2021 might be a good year. I’ve got several projects on the bubble. I’ve been working on a sitcom for ages that I’m really excited about as well as a musical I’ve always wanted to try. Also started a play about (it’s a secret) and an early dip into a new adaption.Bring it.
Day 1 of rehearsals directing the Manc premiere of RAGE by my good friend
@StephensSimon
with the graduating actors
@ArdenSchool
in a very exciting space
@53two
. A phenomenal creative team onboard. This is proper. So excited to bring this play home.
To every actor out there.2023 has been a shocker for everyone I know, apart from those who always come up smelling of roses. Not had a year like it personally in 25 years.Getting a bit tired that it seems it’s only those who can afford to do it, doing it. Keep going if you can.
I've got a spanking new play ready to go. Kindly championed by some very fine actors, playwrights, and directors. Looking for exciting, innovative, and producers and theatre makers.
#OVConnect
Final 3 performances of
#wutheringheights
@rxtheatre
. How did that happen. What a journey. Thank you to everyone who has come and watched what we’ve were the final cog in a mass collaboration of this astonishing story.For those still to see it. Enjoy.
First planning meeting for a big new exciting theatre project with the best there is
@Bryony_Shan
this afternoon. Lots to do, not much time to do it. This is the one.
It’s been an incredibly sad day. The students and staff of
#ALRA
have been treated abhorrently. But it’s shown through acts of generosity and support what the creative industry and community can do when we have to step up.
I flipping love working
@rxtheatre
.Such a brilliant place. It’s a phenomenal building full extraordinarily creative and talented people who care so much. I might be biased but there’s not a building like it in country and we’re so lucky to have it in Manchester.
#LetTheRightOneIn
Someone will be sat there right now thinking “Should I send that thing I’ve written that I haven’t told anyone about or let anyone read because I don’t know what it is and I don’t know if it’s any good and it’s probably rubbish”. I was like that.I was like you and I won. Send it.
A day of casting
@53two
tomorrow. I wonder how many pies I’ll get through. Won’t be touching the mushy peas until afternoon though. I know my mad old days are over.
@TheStage
After recieving £3 million from

@TheatreRoyalNew
decide to outsource its front-of-house work instead of supporting those casual and freelance workers who desperately need it.
@ace_thenorth
I thought some of this grant was meant to trickle down?
If any 3rd year
@alranorthdrama
want to get in touch please do. Let me know what you need and how we industry professionals can do. There’s a huge ground swell of support and we want to help.
For some ridiculous reason I’ve only just watched Joker. Joaquin Phoenix is incredible. It’s a masterclass in character acting. Every frame, every shot, every scene he just fills with beautiful precise detail. Nothing goes to waste.Blown away.
Proper busy weekend. Managed to get my play finished for
@TheArdenActors
. Going to direct it too. Can’t wait to work with some phenomenal actors. Bring on
#PigeonShit
I've directed and worked with loads of actors in training but out of them all I can't understand why
@isaac_radmore
has not been snapped up by an agent. To all those agents looking- this actor is extremely talented and will work work work.
#signhimup
Really happy to announce that I've been selected to receive an
@ace_national
@ace_thenorth
Develop Your Creative Practice means the world to me.Congrats to those fellow recipients and keep on going those that were'nt successful this time.
My play Paulding Light is shortlisted for the Nick Darke Award.I should be performing in
#TheMysteries
@rxtheatre
tomorrow but
@piglungs
is standing in for me.Get down to see him being brilliant and wearing a jaunty cape. Thanks mate. I really appreciate it.
Once again,
@Simon_Naylor
went above and beyond the call of duty yesterday to help me get a show off ground with lights and sound. True gent, true professional, true pal. Thank you. I promise to repay for all you do one day.
Big online meeting on Wednesday with 2 execs in the States. 1 in LA the other in New York. The sheer thought of it blows my mind. Sounds sad but I’ve never spoken to anyone in America before. I feel like I’m going to Disneyland.
So excited to open this tonight. Such a special show with a ridiculously talented cast, creative team, and crew. It takes a whole building to make a play and this whole place has come together and been all hands on deck.
#thebesttheatreintheworld

✨IT'S PRESS NIGHT✨
We're all coming out to play👀
Wishing the whole cast, crew and creatives of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, the best on tonight's show!

I will never be complacent about my job or take the opportunities I get for granted ever again (if I still have a career).I’m such a lucky lucky person, supported by brilliant people that I love. Blimey, that’s quite positive for me.
Wow. It’s really easy at the moment to suddenly feel forgotten, looked over, left behind, and cast adrift. I think there are moments when we all feel like this. I think it’s normal. It’s fine. But they are real feelings so don’t feel guilty feeling them.
Both my mum and dad have got Covid. Both in their 70’s. Both double jabbed and boosted. Hardly go out. This thing is that transmissible. Fingers crossed they’ll be protected and be fine.
Just when you think no acting work or even an audition will turn up ever again a peachy casting lands.Things will get better.Take the gifts that find there way to you in the meantime.
Hard to imagine this time last year I was putting on a Frank Sidebottom head every night with
@monkeywood
@HOME_mcr
and rehearsals for Wuthering Heights
@rxtheatre
we’re only a few weeks way. Proper mad.
Day .... I don’t know. Wuthering Heights. I’ve just eaten 3 bags of crisps and started to cry in my kitchen. Such heart and bravery from everyone involved. Int life mad.
#specialtimesandpeople
So much to say about
#LTROI
@rxtheatre
. It’s been amazing to be part of something so full life that resonated with audiences that don’t usually go to the theatre.That’s what it’s all about.The democratisation of theatre. Open to everyone.A place where stories can be seen by all.
29 characters/actors on stage for the full play. Easy I thought. No problem. Piece of piss. 27 scene transitions with 29 characters/actors has literally destroyed my brain this afternoon. I mean I don’t even know my own name anymore.
#RAGE
@53two
Things Drama School should teach:
Just because you want it,just because you're hungry for it,just because you've been trying to crack it for so long,doesn't mean you're going to get 's brutal and unfair.But the sooner you recognise that the better.Honest.
Day 3. Wuthering Heights. Struggling to put into words the talent and passion of the cast and creative team. Not seen or experienced anything like it. The design by
@ceciletremo
is going to be out of this world.
Bloody Elle
@rxtheatre
last night was so good.
@laurynredding
is a force of nature.A hypnotic cocktail of Jim Cartwright/Victoria Wood/John Copper Clarke mixed together but filtered through a prism of pure heart and of the best I've seen in that space.
2021-I want to get a proper outing on the Weatherfield cobbles,go ghost hunting with
@Yfielding
on
@mosthaunted
,start open swimming,finish my sit-com,see the best theatre I've ever seen and then talk in a bar drunkenly with mates I've not seen for year.Just putting it out there.
Cracking showcase by the mighty
@ArdenActors
this afternoon. Look at these lovely lot. Got a proper lump in my throat when the they sang Build A Rocket Boys. Good to see
@martingibbons22
too.He always makes me smile.
3 reoccurring things in my plays. If you're arsed.
1. Children who act like adults and adults that act like children.
2. Impossible stage directions.
3. Animals. Dead and alive.
Not part of that exclusive playwriting club so I've done this off my own bat.
As I walked back from the tram at Timperley and the odd over zealous fireworks exploded overhead I can honestly say I’ve never felt such overwhelming embarrassment since the time I had to shit in a phone box.
After a masiive week on
#wutheringheights
@rxtheatre
a walk through the storm felt quite fitting until it felt like I was being followed,a fox ran out on me, and every bush and hedge I passed seemed to emit weird creature noises. Proper freaked me out.
@danieljohnsonuk
Director: Can you talk more like your brother?
Me:My brother?
Director:Yes. Can you sound more like Teddy.
Me:My brother is called Paul.
Director:Are you not Teddy Sheringham's brother?
Me:No. My name is Andy Sheridan.
