Frequently hearing of agencies insisting actors go to their classes to be considered for representation. It’s fucking disgusting that the passion of #actors is getting abused like this! Actors-if they can’t get people to join without that, do you want them to rep you? Never pay!

I haven’t seen the details surrounding this, but, if it’s true (I suspect it is) we need to stand together, as a union @EquityUK & demand better. @SpotlightUK have grown beneath our noses to become a capitalist conglomerate that exists to rip off #actors , NOT protect them. Awful.

One thing I learned early on; entering the industry, becoming an #actor , does not mean you’re guaranteed jobs, agents, opportunity. Sometimes, it won’t happen, for many reasons. We don’t simply ‘become an actor’ & start getting work. We don’t get headshots taken & get an agent.

It still really confuses me when people say ‘London Agent’...it really does not matter where your agent is based. We need to stop this weird ‘pedestal’ that exists. I could set up an agency in London & it’d still be as crap if I set it up an agency anywhere else in the UK!

So, in the current climate, an agent sent a fake self-tape out to all their clients...one of them was 6 years old who thought it was her first opportunity. She was told it was a joke & cried. Surely this is absolutely fucking awful behaviour from that agent? #AprilFoolMyArse
