@Athenion3 I was over there recently, and even from the tourist bubble it was concerning. Worse, it seems like the gov has overplayed it’s political hand, and people are cynical about hearing about the effects of the embargo. Which is worrying, bc it’s still the main problem

People are allowed to disagree inside a movement, but a lot of comrades in DSA need to step back and think about what we’re actually doing. No one owes allegiance to our strategy, and clearly we didn’t win the confidence of organic leaders in the Palestinian movement.

@afroprolecommie When I see people struggling all over, like in Palestine, willing to give their lives just to move the struggle a millimeter further, in a situation where barbarism is already there, it makes me want to fight anyway, and like I can’t give into despair in good conscience.

IMT in Canada is admitting now that Alex Grant was an abusive bully and removed him from the organization. They’re confirming everything James said in his letter, and so many other critics. How can they justify now having pushed out so many cadres, and so many public denials?

Dsa has by far the most democratic organizing culture on the US left. But it’s still structurally impossible to discuss political issues at branch meetings, rather than just wgs and caucuses. The emphasis on presentations and report-backs instead of discussions, and small

When I was in IMT I used to avoid reading theory by so-called "academics" because I was afraid I would not be able to understand why it's wrong and be driven off the right path. This is embarrassing, but I can't be the only one, If you're in and thinking like that, it is in fact

At the root of this is that elected socialists should be tribunes of the people. They have a massive platform to reach people with a socialist message. If they’re not even defending protests and popular movements from the bourgeois media’s slander, then what are they even doing.
