My thoughts on CPJ as rumors swirl about his retirement: - He did a lot with the restrictions he had to work with at Tech - Some of my fave Tech memories are under him (Miracle on Techwood, 2014 Orange Bowl, etc) Also of note: great time to be looking for a coach right now

@andreweatherman @ChapelBellCurve @CFB_Data @CFB_Data ‘s PPA and GameOnPaper’s EPA models are fundamentally different (neural network vs gradient-boosted trees, IIRC). IIRC, cfbfastR (if you’re using that to access CFBData) is different from the other two as well (though I can’t remember its model design at the moment).

@southernsp01 Game on Paper is built off ESPN’s data, so if ESPN pulls a game’s play-by-play data, we can’t display anything for it on our site. In this case, it looks like the game itself has disappeared from ESPN: (at least at time of tweet).

@joel_norris7 @SaiemGilani There were issues with ESPN's feeds all of last night -- a lot of games had delayed updates and PbP. No idea if/when those will be resolved. Some games also may just not have play-by-play. May want to cross-reference games against the ESPN site to see if that's the case.

More thoughts on CPJ’s retirement and the road ahead: One thing I feel needs to be emphasized: GT is one of the harder open jobs in America. Just changing the offense isn’t gonna fix what ails the program, despite what some may think.
