after 12 games....
Geoff Collins:
- 3-9 (2-6 ACC)
- lost 49-0 at home to a conference opponent
- lost 52-7 to georgia in Atlanta
- lost to an FCS school
Brent Key:
- 6-6 (5-5 ACC)
- not shut out
- lost 14-37 to georgia in Athens (35 point underdogs)
- beat an FCS school
gotta say it's been fun having Georgia Tech be the center of the college football discourse because of what they did instead of because of how the other team screwed up
i didn't see it mentioned (maybe i missed it) but Georgia Tech's win over UNC two weekends ago was Brent Key's 7th ACC win, matching Geoff Collins' total.
Geoff Collins won 7 out of his 26 ACC games.
Brent Key has won 8 of 13.
not sure what it is with the Georgia Tech fanbase but too many of y'all have apparently forgotten Zach Pyron has already started and finished multiple games for Tech.
the Georgia Tech coaching staff also appears to have forgotten this and that is a huge problem.
if the University[sic] of Georgia has a million haters, i am one of them. if Georgia has a thousand haters, i am one of them. if Georgia has one hater, i am him. if Georgia has no haters, i am no longer on this earth. if the world is for Georgia, i am against the world.

GEOFF COLLINS IS NOW 1-4 AGAINST G5 TEAMS. BUT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. IT'S THE BIGGEST OFFENSIVE TRANSFORMATION IN THE HISTORY OF OUR SPECIES. HE SHOULD GET FIVE MORE YEARS TO FIX THIS.
if you had told me Georgia Tech football would be 4-4 entering November this year i'd have said, yeah, i could see that
if you had then told me HOW Georgia Tech got to 4-4 i would have said, yes, of COURSE that's how they did it
Deion at Colorado is totally not just a grift to get he and his sons paid. Nope. Very legitimate operation.
What’s that? The band isn’t allowed to play the fight song when Shedeur throws a touchdown because they want his rap song played? Very normal.
1) the Georgia Bulldogs will never win "the city" a title because they are not in "the city"
2) Atlanta United literally won a championship ten months ago
Paul Johnson was hired in an era when Georgia Tech was cutting costs as he was seen as a coach who could maximize the talent he had. he succeeded in spite of, not because of, the financial restrictions placed on his program. his successor's failure has nothing to do with him.
SB Nation was the mecca of college football coverage throughout the entire 2010s and pretty much everything Vox has done to it since 2020 are things you would do if you wanted to dismantle it completely
Yup, got laid off today. Gonna miss working with all the talented folks at

but I know they'll keep kicking ass.

"Don't give ammo to me. If you give ammo to me, I'm coming at you full tilt. This game was very personal."
Fran Brown was NOT happy with Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key's comments earlier in the week insinuating Syracuse was not physical - to the tune of a 31-28 Orange win
Georgia Tech men's basketball is 3-7 in ACC play. they are in 13th place.
two of those wins are against UNC and Duke, the first and second placed teams in the conference.
lol. lmao, even.
the more i hear about Geoff Collins' tenure at Georgia Tech the clearer it becomes he should never be allowed to be a head coach at the P5 level ever again. maybe not even the G5 level.
i know at least twenty seven people have already pointed it out but it is truly nuts that Georgia Tech football has won four straight in Blacksburg and starting a backup at QB for each of the last three
confirmed with my sources this was the real
@TheRamblinReck
at tonight's Savannah Hockey Classic. pretty sure this is the first time, usually it's a similar car provided by a local alum.
from 2019 to 2022 Georgia Tech quarterbacks were sacked an average of 31 times a season.
eleven games into 2023, Haynes King has been sacked 13 times. offensive line rebuilds are multi-year projects but that's a massive improvement in just a single year.
it's never the coaches' fault. it's never Georgia Tech athletics' fault. it's never the fault of Mark Teixiera, Steve Zelnak, and all the influential big money donors. it's always the fault of you, the fan.
🎁 TOP 10 BETTING MOMENTS OF 2023 🎁
10. No time to kneel like the present
Tyler Van Dyke could simply kneel the ball, and the
#17
Hurricanes would be 5-0.
Instead, Georgia Tech (+745 ML) bettors cashed one of the most improbable bets of 2023.
if i had a nickel for every time Georgia Tech football had beaten the
#17
team this season i'd have two nickels
which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice
if you start the replay of the 2015 Georgia Tech vs. FSU football game at 9:58 you will ring in the new year with Lance Austin crossing the endzone after sending Roberto Aguayo spinning into oblivion
unlike Collins i don't have any real animus toward Brent Key. he played the incredibly awful hand he was dealt. he is a better coach than Geoff Collins. i think he could be a good head coach. but right here, right now? is not the time or the place.
there is an ACC crew for this game which means Georgia Tech is somehow going to have an extremely questionable personal foul penalty called against them
tomorrow in Tallahassee:
//ULM runs out
//FSU does not
//flames shoot out of the goalpost uprights
BAH GAWD, THAT'S PAUL JOHNSON'S MUSIC
//Georgia Tech runs out
@dieworkwear
that is an incredible thing to say from a person whose profile pic is of Goldust, whose character was...... very transgressive, to say the least
with the continuity that Georgia Tech football is keeping into 2023, next year is not a "year zero" situation for Brent Key. a lot of people are going to try to pretend it is but it isn't. things are going to need to tick up pretty quickly.
Paul Johnson refrained from commenting on Geoff Collins' tenure while he was still in the job. With Collins out, Johnson gave his thoughts on, among other things, 260-pound offensive linemen.
the 2021 Georgia Tech football team was truly wretched. burn the tapes. salt the ground. encase it in concrete and drop it in the ocean. erase all trace of it.
NEED TO MAKE THIS CLEAR NOW SINCE A LOT OF PEOPLE STILL DON'T QUITE GET IT:
GEOFF COLLINS WAS OUTCOACHED, BADLY, EVERY SINGLE GAMEDAY. IT'S NOT THE ONLY REASON HE WAS 10-28, BUT IT WAS A BIG ONE.
when a player campaigns for a guy to be head coach, and then the school makes that guy the head coach, then the player transfers anyway
like what the hell man
the last two years Georgia Tech has beaten Duke to go into the bye week at 3-3, but this year's 3-3 sure feels a whole lot better than last year's 3-3, doesn't it?
