RECORD LOWEST WIND CHILL: -106 degrees on top of Mt. Washington in the last 30 minutes. Let's see if we can break the actual air temperature record of -50 (we're at -45 NOW). Crazy cold there now. via
@HayleyWMUR
Absolutely brutal arctic air & strong winds will make it feel like -40 or worse Sat AM. When it's this cold->getting stranded in a broken down vehicle can be fatal, hiking in the White Mtns without extreme gear can be fatal, frostbite can happen in minutes. Be prepared.
#WMUR
NH's coldest temperature EVER: -50 degrees on top of Mt. Washington. We will likely get within 5-10 degrees of that record Saturday morning. That is wild!
The brutal wind chills tomorrow-Saturday be lower than most of us have ever experienced.

Just wanted to take a moment and document what is likely the strangest (but accurate) current temp map I've ever seen for NH (at 4am) as the warmer air slowly moves into NH. There is a lot going on here with local effects. via
@KevSkarupaWMUR
Updated snowfall map for Thursday night into Friday. Most of this falls overnight Thursday into Friday, then a lull Friday morning, and then a last punch midday Friday. We have the timing of the snow on WMUR now through 6:30. via
@HayleyWMUR
First call on snow totals for Thursday afternoon into Friday. Far southern New Hampshire may start with some wintry mix, but all of us will see a good thump of snow Thursday night. Light to moderate snow continues through much of Friday.

IMPORTANT FORECAST UPDATE: See those gaps in the snow/ mix? See the mix still over parts of southern NH? Both of those are big problems for the snow forecast. Most places likely land in the low part of the range now... around 4" hopefully. School admins take note! via
@HayleyWMUR
Random thought...it is amazing as we pass the halfway point (Feb 2nd) of official winter, how much brighter the sun seems as daylight slowly extends. Feels really nice out there right now with only a light breeze. via
@KevSkarupaWMUR
Intense line of snow moving right through Rockingham County. Up to an inch per hour with visibility below a half mile when this thing moves through. Be careful! via
@HayleyWMUR
For those that believe the weather over the last 4-5 days have us headed right into winter...think again. Starting this Thursday highs through next Wednesday are close to these: 60, 63, 64, 67, 70, 69 and 70.

Despite the cooler weather today, this very warm October continues on. So warm that we haven't had a hard frost yet in many spots south of the Lakes Region. What's crazy is I don't see 32 degrees until maybe next weekend... possibly even later.

We are the warm temperature winners... for now. Check it out: Concord at 50 is warmer than Atlanta, New Orleans, and Houston. Get ready for quite the arctic front later today.... via

Freezing rain that follows a quick bursts of snow and sleet could accumulate up to 1/3 of an inch in some areas, resulting in scattered power outages due to the weight of the ice on tree limbs and power lines.
