“The gnarled parapets jagged upwards like a bony hand of icy indifference. In the background, there was a pigeon”. Turbo SHO. Saladsmith. Squirrel whisperer.
This audacious work offers a visceral commentary on transience. It beckons viewers to confront isolation's fragility through a stirring portrayal of solitude's ephemeral essence.
Milo's unconventional genius captures the imagination. A daring masterpiece.

@Telegraph
You had time to sit down and pen a Torygraph article but couldn't find 30 minutes to talk to the BMA.
How much did they pay you for the gas powered piece?
@sophielouisecc
Wow. Didn't realise she was a politician. Who else isn't going Soph/Simon?
The Pope? Johnny Depp? Gary from accounting, the horse from the new Game of Thrones, Rick and Morty, my nana.
You should turn this into a thread of people not going.
@juliaisobela
@Anniedroid_
How much did it cost to individually wrap a teabag?
Who in their right minds got a committee together and presumably after group discussion decided a teabag was a great idea? 🤦♂️
I bet it's not even Tetleys.
Still... More substantive than claps and a pay restoration 🤷♂️
Why would anyone apply for GP training now when this is the state of primary care after 14 years of Tories? I remember being truly excited at the prospect of becoming a GP but not any more and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Sad times.
“We’re creating PAs to support NOT replace GPs” IS A COMPLETE LIE!
The practice I locum in have now replaced me with a PA 😞
I’ve been a GP for 10 years & can’t get work?!
My GP colleagues CANNOT GET work!
We ARE being replaced, by significantly less qualified people?!
@DrNeenaJha
Is this another golden nugget of wisdom from the illustrious
@drcolinm
?
Can Prof Colin confirm what happens when the hospital WiFi inevitably breaks down?
Is "Google it" the new GMC stance on maintaining standards and education?
Are you not embarrassed?
@Dr_Done_
Starting wages for a JD should be same as if not more than a starting PA.
Simple as.
More extensive training, greater responsibilities and a more demanding role. There is no debate.
@iDrSunny
@theresecoffey
So when they ring in sick and cover can't be found does that mean 3 theatres are shut down? Or is it then 1:6?
Doesn't seem very economical. I dunno tho, I'm not a Tory.
@PamelaAmeliaK
Yeah but it's a calling. You were called. Be happy with claps. Claps provide sustenance and will pay off the 10 grand interest on the £90k debt you accrued. Be content in the knowledge that after working 10 years your wages will be marginally above average.
So stop complaining.
@PavSoor
@theAliceRoberts
See Physician Associates.
A bargain basement medic trained in a fraction of the time but apparently enough to see undifferentiated patients. A pliable workforce without regulation or union representation so no chance of strikes. Qualifications only accepted in the UK so stuck.

Cupboarddoorantasia is commonly misunderstood and dibilitating neurological condition affecting millions of men.
It's not something to be made light of. Many biscuits are impacted by this adult aversion.

@BMA_JuniorDocs
If a 31% real term loss in wages since 2008 is "fair & reasonable" then I'm sure you'll be happy returning the yearly above inflation increases you've enjoyed as MP?
After all, we're all in together.
When's the next Torygraph OP piece due? Will you be expressing disappointment?
@TheBlondeRN
I carry little bleep machines from the 1980s in my pocket.
It screams and shakes all day for attention and whimpers every few minutes when I ignore it.
Sometimes I have to carry 2 just for the pure joy of the experience.
I hate the bleep machine.
@julianhartley1
Why are you directing this towards the BMA?
@VictoriaAtkins
said she would be back at the negotiating table within 10 minutes once IA was over. It's now been almost a month.
Perhaps you should be directing that thumb tap energy towards the people refusing to engage. The Tories.
@kelvmackenzie
How old are you? 77? Statistically speaking you'll be requiring their help in the not so distant future. For one reason or another.
We'll see how that tune changes in a few years.
@BushBabe64
@LKTranslator
Did you spend years in uni & on placement to qualify, essentially working for free while accruing tens of £thousands in debt?
Did you spend years learning and developing new skills while managing critically ill patients on 12+ hour night shifts, weekends and bank holidays?
@MikeDonio
Why would Jesus, the son of the living God... Need a seatbelt? Or a parachute, or insulin?
Nothing is impossible for him.
If you have enough faith and it's some dude's will then we will be healed.
To suggest otherwise, minimises and marginalises the power of mass hysteria.
@Jeremy_Hunt
Weird how YOUR wages have kept up with inflation while doctors have lost ~25% over the last 13 years.
Just one of the universe's strange coincidences 🤷♂️
Weird how the "independent pay review" found you guys need that pay rise. Our "independent pay review" was ignored.
Weird.

Hi Wes.. I'm a medic working in the NHS.
I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind elaborating on what you meant by you're "up for the fight” with NHS unions?
Is it the official labour stance that you don't agree we should be paid fairly?
Would appreciate your response.

Hi
@drcolinm
. Is this OK to you?
This is something commonly referred to in legal circles as "taking the piss".
How much are we forecasting it will cost the GMC to sort through these legal whoopsies? I'm assuming the funding will be direct from our fees?

They're also the people treating your kids for sepsis at 4am and performing CPR on your wife and newborn baby.

Queue the pre-written Sun/Torygraph OP piece where Steve expresses his deep, everlasting disappointment. So much disappointment. Steve's entire tenure as Health Secretary has been one big disappointment.
His disappointment is disappointing.
@VictoriaAtkins
@Conservatives
Your "word" as a Tory is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
You & Steve did nothing but lie & deflect for almost 2 years. Gaslighting doctors while facilitating their replacements with PAs with 1/5 the training..while paying PAs 30% more.. 30%. Exactly what we're asking.
@parastie
@kjdelay1

This is a prime example of misplaced frustration.
Blame the insurance companies, pharmaceuticals, hospital admin and politicians. Practioners have no control over pricing.
Then blame the educational system that charges $400k+ to train physicians in the first place.

You have to wonder why he's so committed to this project? What's his stake here because he's certainly not motivated out of an unbridled passion for patient safety in the NHS.
The only time I've seen a Tory this vocal is when there's cash involved.
@VictoriaAtkins
@UKParliament
Pay us. It's that simple.
You found £8B from NI tax cuts (that lo and behold directly defunds the NHS & social care) just before a General Election but you can't find £1B or £2B to pay doctors properly? You've already paid out £2B to cover costs of strikes.
Take a hike.
@SteveBarclay
It would mean a few JDs would have £20k restored.
Steve, would you not be a bit miffed to lose £20k off your wages? On top of that you're expected to work more to cover rota gaps with fewer/crumbling resources. Oh & you're also now £100k in debt. No?
Anyway, enjoy the beach
@SteveBarclay
@DHSCgovuk
Here's a truly bold plan Steve:
Pay your doctors and nurses a fair wage that reflects their training and responsibilities.
You can start the process by actually talking to them.
@BBCLauraKT
Easy. The man's achievements are innumerable.

It wasn’t a simple question though was it? It was a puerile and vapid reply. Disingenuous and frankly a little idiotic in light of the last 18 months.
There is no debate about this anymore. There never was.

@ESHTNHS
If an FY3 with at minimum 7 years of medical training isn't considered generalist enough to work at a GP practice then how pray tell, can a PA with 2?
How is that continuity of care? Why are you PAs paid more than your junior doctors?
@drcolinm
@RavensburgerUK
Dr Colin. You have well & truly opened a can of worms & your refusal to engage is only making the situation worse. I'm sure you can see that and you're perhaps hoping this will all blow over. It won't.
You need to communicate with us. Explore our concerns. Help us understand.
@MarkBagnallSurg

@oliverdevine
So what's the point of entry requirement to med school? Why bother with a selection process at all? Why force trainees to fork out £80+k? Why send them half across the country away from family and friends? Will PAs cover on-calls and night shifts? If so, how when they can't px?

Forgive my intrusion but it is my understanding that it was indeed the OP's intention to highlight today, the Easter Monday bank holiday, specifically for attention.
This was revealed in the explicit opening "Your Easter Monday reminder that today" for contextual purposes.

Man, they must really smash that immunology, molecular biology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacotherapy, anatomy & physiology, microbiology, pathology, pathophysiology, statistics, lab skills, ethics & medical law, surgery..
In that year of core learning and year of clinical skills.

Yeah sod those juniors and their plans to have a fair wage.
How many extra hours do you reckon juniors have put in over the years to plug rota gaps to date? You know... To ensure patient safety.
Pull your head out your arse.
@gmcuk
If local trusts are to be "trusted" to deploy PAs then why can we not then allow GP practices to employ SHOs under supervision of a GP? They've already worked minimum 4 months in primary care and at the end of F2 will have 5 years more experience/training than a PA. And can Px.
@drkeithsiau
Keith if only you could be starting fresh out of med school now. Staring down £80k of debt that will only grow the next 8 years no matter how much you work as a doctor.
Staring at ever diminishing training opportunities as applicants numbers grow but specialty places dwindle.
@HenriJasmine
@mevparekh
@DrRayBakes
Most GP practices are open 8am until 6:30pm and already offer out of hours services
Most are already stretched beyond capacity in normal working hours. Anything beyond is infeasible
There just aren't enough GPs & each day we are seeing more burnt out and reaching tethers end.
@tomhcalver
Perhaps when the government stops using RPI to calculate the extortionate student loans, rail fares rises, mortgage interest payments, car tax etc.. then CPI might be a better measure... but not until then.

They did though didn't they?
Intrigued to know why your profile mentions nothing of the self-servative party you represent? Almost like you're embarrassed. I would be too.
GB obfuscation from Tom does not fix the shit you and your party has afflicted.
@CamillaTominey
The NHS is failing? After 14 years of Tories? Weird, since the Torygraph & people like you have been telling us the Tories are the ONLY party that can save it. So what's happening? How many years do the Tories need exactly and what have they been doing all these years?
Hmm?
