I really love THE BEAR as a show, but I hate The Bear as a restaurant. The dominance of minimalist, fusion eateries like The Bear, especially post-2020, strip a lot of cities of their individual character and history as working class cities in the pursuit of "elevated" dining.

Without hyperbole, BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974) is the best film we have ever covered on TEAP. It is a landmark in teen cinema at a time where contemporaries were sparse and it is still one of the best horror films ever made. It even makes me forget that I hate Christmas.

Today I learned that #TransDayOfVisibility started the same year I came out (2009). I don't make a what-to-do about existing but I know many people in Ohio had never met a trans person before me. That visibility matters, especially for trans people who weren't out yet themselves.

I dunno, man. I'm not bothered by the quality or people liking/not liking a horror movie. I just am wondering where these recurring, aggressive defenses of slasher films were in 2019. There are just a lot of inconsistencies with some people that I find.... interesting. 🤷‍♀️

I keep seeing so many ads for THE WHALE and I really don't need to watch Aronofsky dehumanize and exploit people for his own acclaim (again) to know that Brendan Fraser can showcase how unbelievably charming and talented he is in his character's death. I have always known.

The responses to my article yesterday have been a mixed bag but mostly positive. My biggest takeaway, however, is that some cis people had THE AUDACITY to tell me, a trans person, on Trans Day of Remembrance, what transphobia is. I mean, goddamn....
