I wish I can unread this hateful tweets. I was mentored freely by many remarkable Southern Christians whom I hold in high esteem. I have done my part by mentoring students/residents regardless of religious/ethnic affiliations. We would achieve more as a nation if we work 2geda!

I spend the post Christmas break facilitating a training on good lumbar puncture technique to section of staff of my home town; FMC Katsina as part of management of Meningitis.
The budget for the National Health Service (NHS), England is five times Nigeria's total budget for the year 2020. A sum of 140 billion pounds compared to 28 billion pounds. We pray to God to protect us but we do not have the wherewithal to cope with medical emergencies.
Yes Mr President, the CEO of NCDC, Dr Chikwe has put in a great team to revolutionize disease detection, prevention and response in Nigeria. Proud to be associated with such a turning point in our history.
Dr Stella Adadevoh would have turned 62 today. Today and always we celebrate her dedication and sacrifice. As part of our efforts to build on her legacy our administration has put great effort into strengthening the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
Just finished listening to a motivational lecture on the role of healthcare workers/Doctors in Sokoto by

Dr Balarabe Shehu Kakale at the occasion of the 2018 Association of Resident Doctors Annual General Meeting. Quite inspirational!
@YaxsyMand
COVID-19 is actually curable... meaning that a positive person can turn negative with treatment. Globally, people that have recovered were more than those that have died. The fear of the virus is due to its high transmissibility.
There is a 2019 movie on Netflix called "The Platform" that will give you insight into human behavior as a balancing act of needs, wants and demands interlacing leadership and governance. I recommend it!

Today, AFENET and NPHCDA launched the Zero-Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH). The ZDLH will generate evidence for strategies to identify and reach zero-dose children and missed communities.
The project is funded by GAVI.
It's not the first time infectious diseases have been used as political bogeymen. And when there are actually real outbreaks, fear and denial go hand in hand to help them spread.

In Sokoto, we have two sites that can do this test if supplied with kits! I wonder when
@NCDCgov
would look at proper decentralization of Covid 19 testing

This is not true. The testing kits are not for sale. Hence they can only be distributed by NCDC. That's why they call it NCDC lab network. We are not asking for funds but testing kits

Thank you for this. We are currently working with some collaborators to further unravel the aetiology of this super neglected tropical disease. I was alarmed at the number of new cases we record daily
We found a prevalence of 7.7% of probable disseminated histoplasmosis in advance HIV disease in Nigeria. 11.8% of cases were co-infected with TB. We expect this would advocate for better Histoplasmosis diagnostics across country.
Our STL-Haj Halimatu. Congratulations
@DrEndie

. AFENET has indeed done marvelously well in achieving Polio free status in Nigeria and Africa

If you have not been through this please do not judge people. Sometimes this is the fastest and easiest way to let your friends and associates know of the passing of your parents and that is the way to invite more people for the funeral.
@AbdulHadiAhmadB
@QSMannir_Yakubu
Well done Malam and Excellency, can we please dedicate a small allocation for research and innovation(s). We need to domesticate our peculiarities with a view for mitigation. Well done.
@NCDCgov
is doing a good job but this is the time to decentralize testing. Consider three testing centers per geopolitical zones. We have the capacity as a fallout of the IHVN laboratory network...

Academics routinely use the term “sub-Saharan Africa”. Until recently, I also used it without really thinking much about it or questioning its use. But it’s problematic and should be avoided. Here are two excellent pieces explaining why:
Members of staff Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina, department of Pharmarcy during the sendforth ceremony for Pharm. Kabir Hamza Kankara, HOD Pharmacy department on Saturday 20th May, 2023 who retired after 35 years of active service in the Hospital.

The scariest thing is that both the young and older doctors are leaving the country in droves.....younger ones to the west and older ones to the middle east.... I used to preach against it but not anymore
@halimagachi
My hypothesis is that there are lots of middle men involved in the business and the take home pay for any package delivered by the drivers is really worth nothing. They are frustrated and needs to vent their anger on someone. The system doesn't look at their interest.
A loss for the AMR community and the scientific community at large. As noted here, among Dr. Walsh’s many achievements was pinpointing the molecular mechanisms by which bacteria develop resistance to antibiotics, specifically vancomycin.
This is so scary. A mutated variant probably. I believe
@NCDCgov
and
@Chikwe_I
are on top of this. They have done excellently well in the 1st and 2nd wave.
@Bulamacartoons
While it's true that the Sani Abatcha treatment center is under construction. The patients in Kano are however spread between 3 centers hospitals, i.e. Yusuf Maitama Sule Hospital, Kwanar Dawaki, Muhammadu Buhari Hospital, Giginyu and Daula Hotel as a treatment center.
Rising incidence of febrile illnesses in many parts of northern Nigeria...can we correlate this with changing vector behavior or the prolonged rainfalls. Last time we witnessed this was in 2016 and we investigated it find below 👇

There is something wrong with this tweet. I am aware of this same picture of the same dam way back in my secondary schools days in the mid 90s. My question is what exactly is completed and delivered?
