Todays visit to hospital. 4 years ago I started Immunotherapy to boost my immune system to fight stage 4 Melanoma. 3 years ago I started immunosuppressants as my immune system attacked my bowel as a side effect. Cancer treatment doesn’t come alone, Thank you NHS ❤️.
Today is my birthday and 4 years ago whilst undergoing treatment for stage 4 incurable Melanoma, I wasn’t sure if that would be my last birthday. Today isn’t about me, it’s about the marvellous medical staff, friends and family that supported me. Thank you. Hope is constant.
For the last 14 years, I've been living with a part of my arm in my mouth. When I think about that long enough, it messes with my head! My first Stage IV cancer meant I had to have most of my tongue removed and then free flap surgery using a part of my forearm to replace it. This
I met Greyfriars Bobby today and asked him what he’s doing this weekend. He said apart from waiting on his master, he’d be watching the

Yesterdays Dabell. I’m regularly asked what a Dabell is and I explain it’s a bit like a daunder (Scot’s word for a walk) but also a nod to
@John_Dabell
who keeps our spirits up daily.

Are we lesser? Those of us who had treatment during covid and stared out of our windows wondering if we’d see our family and friends again? I’m pretty sure this article would not be endorsed by the Princess.

I was successfully treated with Pembro (Keytruda) for stage 4 Melanoma though the majority of people don’t respond to Immunotherapy. The hope is that more people will respond with stage 3 and stage 4 Melanoma, which is the most dangerous form of skin cancer. Ps use sun screen.
May’s Melanoma awareness month & this is my Melanoma scar. What you can’t see are 2 tumours I developed internally which led to stage 4 incurable cancer diagnosis, but thankfully Immunotherapy is keeping that under control. Please look after your skin, it’s your largest organ.
Sometimes, if you’re lucky, friendships that start in muddy social media soil can blossom in real life. Spent a lovely afternoon in the company of amazing

1st review Amazon."Having cancer can be a very lonely place.Friends & family may offer support however there is nothing better than hearing from others who have/had cancer. So many time I thought "that's happened to me" when reading this book. After reading I don't feel as alone"
We had hoped to get positive feedback from people affected by cancer, but to get this from nurses helping us with our cancer is a real bonus. Our book is helping ❤️
Thank U for the books.
We’ve given them to some patients & have given them to our newer nurses.
The books great at focusing on the patient behind the disease process, they’re deeply personal & they’re something I would want all my nurses to read.

Our latest Amazon review.
These accounts of hope in difficult circumstances prove 1 thing, that everyone’s cancer is different but theres hope. Gave me an insight into a world I didn’t think I’d see but I’m staring into it, and its slightly, less frightening.
And we’re off!
Putting club rivalry aside (for today) to raise money for Children With Cancer UK.
We both know only too well how important a cause this is.
Cancer won’t win.
