I've been to therapy exactly once in my life - I went because I'm 15-45 minutes late for absolutely everything, and wanted to know why I did it. The therapist started by asking whether I enjoyed being late. I thought about this and realized that yes, I did, hugely.

Something weird about committed relationships is that their pleasures are so disproportionately in the realm of the outwardly visible and their sorrows are so private

People are totally unwilling to believe that some women just do not like sex even though they are attracted to men and want a family. Yes, their husbands are good, attractive, give them orgasms. The women just aren’t interested in sex. I saw this all the time in mom groups.

One thing being here has valuably taught me is that the shape of my interests (poetry, porpentine, mtg, maths etc etc) - is absurdly typical of a particular type of person, and that the actual weird things about me are that I'm having a good time and don't like relationships.

I'm referring to art that's high-saturation, high detail, high contrast, content centred around blandly beautiful young women, etc etc - these reliably seem to pour out of every program because the patterns MJ etc have extracted about "what people like" are, basically, correct.

@Kirsten3531 I tend to think it maintains a little of its prior sense - 'unwilling or ineffective at doing housework and other detail-orientated female-coded things'. So for me, it's specifically sleeping around out of it being the path of least self-mastery, a kind of drowsy acceptance.

Think the big disconnect in male-female dating-app discourse is that men are mainly looking for advice on wooing women much less intelligent than they are, and don't like to admit it, so women give them advice on wooing women like them.
