@jack Thank you! TestFlight has a hard cap of 10,000 users. ~1000 users we have there now help a lot to test the app, and it gets all new features 1-2 weeks ahead of the main version. Since v5 we support downgrading to the main version, in case of some bugs.

@unseenking @startpage It's a popular opinion amongst technologists that message security is sufficient for privacy, but it's just different from the usual meaning of privacy in the society and in the dictionaries - privacy is someone's right to keep their personal matters and relationships secret

@AsherHopp More secure and private, without any user ID, also with repudiation (because of double ratchet). I am actually not sure whether Nostr DMs also have non-repudiation, same as the post, I think they do.

@JefferysKee @startpage That might be true right now, and it will change. It's not possible to know the exact share of people who use nodes operated by SimpleX Chat Ltd, as there is no single registry of the app users or of the nodes, so it may be a much lower share across all users - there are many

@SimplestBTCBook If provider has access, malicious parties eventually will too. That’s why we cannot have #ChatControl , or upload moderation, or anything that compromises communication privacy.

It's interesting that many people don't realise that cookies are a critical and foundational part of open web – without them you can't log in to the services you use. As many things, they can be used for privacy abuse. But if NetScape didn't invent them, there'd be no open web.

@PrivacyMatters Commented here: TL;DR: BBC should be ashamed promoting nonsense aiming to undermine privacy of people who pays their bills.

Internet Watch Foundation is one of anti-privacy lobby groups funded mostly by big tech companies trying to make privacy illegal. BBC should not be promoting their nonsense, and instead should expose the real intention of these lobby groups - destroy privacy of people who pay

Making message deniability more plausible! Cryptographic repudiation provides, at least technically, a plausible deniability to senders' whose confidentiality was betrayed by the recipients. I wrote before what we added to improve deniability: So, we're

5. Does the company log timestamps/IP addresses? Yes This is incorrect, we never logged IP addresses and access timestamps of the users. Further, the private message routing that is now enabled by default for all users prevents such logging by any 3rd party servers with

@toruszero @GrapheneOS While we don’t focus the app on messaging in families (we might) it’s indeed important that people are not discoverable in the app, and can only be connected with if they share the link… We keep thinking about introducing some sort of parental controls into the app where you
