My Kindle weekly sales report came through...
To the trolls who have been yapping, ever since the day my novel was released, that no one would buy my "shit self-published book":
Guess what?
I won.
Ha!
@waruwk
As many as you want. But the fact remains: anyone above the age of consent can date another 18yr-old - or a 100y-old, and it's none of your business.
@tomgara
What baffles me even more is that a former MIT tenured professor (and self-proclaimed feminist) whose dissertation is under attack is incapable of defending herself, letting her husband, who had nothing to do with said dissertation, do all the legwork and speak on her behalf.
@itsjamesherring
Highly enjoyable ad.
He forgot a small matter of prices, however: Olso is one of the most expensive cities in the world. In that respect, it kind of is exclusive.
@SarahTheHaider
I am not! I've done rather well in life with my level of literacy and don't have to depend on the alms from Substack subscribers to scrape a living, unlike you. And forgive me if I misunderstood your post. But it was rather incoherent.
@toadmeister
Whenever you stand on the trans issue, work is not the place to "express your identity", of any kind. If anything, it is a place to tone it down in favour of neutrality and professionalism.
This cannot be right. According to a stream of legal dramas released since c. 2015, the most brilliant attorneys who win the most difficult cases are all black.
@JuliaHB1
These people also tend to call themselves "tolerant" and "respecting of others' choices". Little do they realise that by insisting that I nod along to their rhetoric and repeat statements that fundamentally go against my idea of reality, they display profound intolerance.
@WGthink
@DrProudman
Here you go. She rages about the whiteness and privilege of the royal family - all while happily flaunting the pictures of her white and (reasonably) privileged social circle.
@JuliaHB1
@AvaSantina
@LozzaFox
That's what I thought until I found this tweet. You post about not "shagging" someone, it's only fair that they respond in kind.
@jasonintrator
By wonderful coincidence, this announcement from the Dean of my business school, world's top-3, just came through. Would a business school with a militant anti-woke majority be proudly launching a new DEI department?
@DrProudman
You refer to yourself as a "junior barrister," yet you are at an age when people make it to KC. Your tweets are at best elaborately banal, at worst plain daft. How you stay in legal profession is beyond me. Even your radically left-wing colleagues like
@BarristerSecret
mock you.
Postmodernism, as term and concept, is often used randomly (and illiterately) - so I attempted some corrections and clarifications in today's Quillette.
@wesyang
She is wearing a classical ballet kit. I was trained in professional ballet. So believe me when I say that she will not last for more that 3-4 minutes. There's a reason dancers and athletes are thin: it's impossible to perform with extra weight.
@theAliceRoberts
@revkatebottley
This is not criticism, this is blatant mockery. I am an atheist, but I'll never have the bad taste of ridiculing a figure other people hold sacred.
Another staggering example of Western illiteracy. The entire production crew of Snow White, including PRs who prepped this actress, think that the story dates back to a 1930s cartoon. Literally no one heard of The Brothers Grimm 1812 fairy tale and the folklore which informed it.
@Baddiel
@hugorifkind
A term just about acceptable for certain reality TV stars who make the point of flaunting their lives and antics to the public, to shock and provoke. But using word "toyboy" to describe a family living a private life and raising a child together is low and cheap.
@nhannahjones
If the overwhelming majority of US pilots were white at the time of the crashes, so were the pilots who crashed the planes. This analysis proves nothing. A more enlightened analysis would be to look at the percentage of white pilots who crashed their planes to the total number of
@ar_rothschild
Taking a picture of someone's private house and posting it on Twitter for the world to see? Forgive me, but this is both in bad taste and rather creepy. And I don't know who these days is still surprised by a home security camera, especially in a house that attracts attention.
@realchrisrufo
None of this would've happened if instead of engaging in politics - an activity which should be left to elected politicians - Disney focused on what companies are supposed to do: provide quality products to their customers and quality returns to their shareholders.
Is there a more delightful, uplifting, reliably first-rate presence on our screens these days than Ryan Reynolds
@VancityReynolds
? Film after film, he never fails to deliver.

@JuliaHB1
People re-align their bodies for various reasons: to look and feel younger, for example. Some make it their life's mission and go for it with zeal. Yet when I see a 60-year-old with a face lift, fortunately, I am not obliged to believe they are 35.
@AllisonPearson
And the Royal etiquette she mocks so childishly and nastily in that video is something she knew all along she would have to follow. If she found it that oppressive, she didn't have to marry.
@monitoringbias
I didn't think we needed studies for this: wokeism is largely an act. A number of times passionate feminists and defenders of sisterhood addressed me as an ugly bitch or suggested that I was in my 60s when other arguments didn't work...
@NewYorker
Oh, for god's sake, it didn't "suddenly" become popular: the phenomenon existed for as long as people existed. It's just that some American recently gave it a fancy name.
"Yes, young girls need role models. But whether these are male or female is irrelevant. We admire other people for certain qualities. For me, these are honour, courage, talent, kindness, intellect. Decency."

Couldn't agree more: they are taking advantage of their position as national airline and virtual monopoly on many routes. Please continue using your platform to hold BA to account.

Don't be too disheartened. The letter is signed by a bloke with a job title "Etsy Markerplace Integrity." Just imagine what his job (life?) must be like.
@theyasminbenoit
@stonewalluk
Not wanting sex is a pathology, as sex is the most basic and essential human instinct. If we were all asexual, human race would die out. But no one discriminates against you. If you applied for a job, you wouldn't be asked about your sexual preferences. Although I suspect you'd

I really don't understand this obsession with "live-in" biological fathers. Men sleeping under the same roof as their children doesn't make them good fathers: they can still be distant, disinterested, or plain cruel. Having 1 parent who unconditionally loves you is far healthier.
Let's cut the crap about men being shameless self-promoters, and women too shy and retiring to advertise their worth. Here's a girl dabbling in philosophy at a 2nd-tier college comparing herself to Hume. Stupidly self-assured people have equal representation in both sexes.
The incredulous thing is that it's people with "Philosophy PhD" and "Philosophy Professor" in profiles confessing to have never read/understood basic philosophy texts. Perhaps universities are right in shutting philosophy departments, if this is the tuition level students get.
@Beavkin
@waruwk
It may come as s surprise to you, but society works through the law. Everything citizens do that comply with the law is no one's business.
If you manage to retrieve marginalised equals of Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Plato and Kant, I will devour them with passion. Until then, I'm afraid, it will be Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Plato and Kant. Books should be read because of their quality - not their authors' identity.
We are engaged in both retrieving philosophical works of women and individuals from other marginalized groups and sustaining the presence of these figures in the history of philosophy.
@StigAbell
It only works if you've only ever lived in Britain, only speak English, only have British friends and regard travel as an exotic luxury. Those who are more internationally minded want to visit places where they had lived and see friends and family.
This guy will go far. Cultures mixing and learning from each other is a good thing, Jones says. Not so, the guy replies, as some cultures have more to offer than the others. The guy stops short of examples, so let me provide some for him.
The culture I was born into gave the
Whether you agree with the young conservative or not, it’s entertaining to see him articulately embarrass Owen Jones, who clearly was trying to trip him up with this line of questioning for his next outage video compilation.

@CHSommers
Shouldn't campus sexual assault be the matter for police only, to be investigated according to standard police procedures, like any other sexual assault? Universities are blatantly not qualified to carry out criminal investigations.
@toadmeister
This is very strange. Even if Mr Berenson expressed an incorrect opinion, this is nothing compared to the flood of misinformation and deliberate lies that other Twitter users supply every day. Yet hardly anyone gets suspended. Are we sure this the whole story?
@DrProudman
Because his comment, in bad taste as it was, concerned one woman - not "women" in general. I didn't like my colleague Alistair. This doesn't mean I hated all men.
@jo_bartosch
@TheCriticMag
I have a genuine question. Why is self-identification by gender acceptable, but not the others? I may decide to identify as being 20 years younger, because that's how I feel, but noone will take me seriously. But if I identify as a man, they will. Just trying to understand.
This is how the "passé -retiré" position in classical ballet actually looks like (left).
And best of luck to Sophie Rebecca with finding a male dancer willing to partner "her" for a one-handed lift in Spartacus (right).
Sophie Rebecca, former rally driver and IT technician, was the first transwoman to pass exams at The Royal Ballet Academy (which changed its rules in 2013 to allow transwomen in).
Sophie is 6ft 3in.
“I knew from a young age that I was trapped in the wrong body”.
@realchrisrufo
"Wildly inappropriate" is the point. Children shouldn't be exposed to sex education, even of garden variety - that's for teenages and YAs. Children should enjoy the innocence of childhood, and any questions they may have about their bodies should be dealt with tactfully at home.
@DrProudman
I wasn't going to do this, but enough is enough.
@barstandards
, this barrister repeatedly instigates trials by social media for personal publicity, ignoring the basics of your profession: innocent until proven guilty in a court of law by a jury of peers. Why does she practice?
@davidrieff
@CHSommers
This is what baffles me most: why does management cave in, again and again, to the whims and histrionics of junior publishing staff - instead of firing them for insubordination? This is what a corporate executive would do, on the spot.
@thenitinsawhney
Wracking my brain, but cannot think of many breakthroughs in the history of human thought that weren't achieved by a white man or a group of white men. So I'm not terribly concerned about this particular group being in the BBC studio.
@jasonintrator
I'm not saying you are right or wrong, but you can't possibly claim to know much about a country which you visited once and whose language you don't speak.
@ClarkeMicah
You are the most knowledgeable, sympathetic, and yet objective commentator on the Russia/Ukraine conflict in this country. Makes a refreshing difference to the cynics who comment on this war as if it were a Netflix action movie.
@April_1970s
The woman is either an opportunist or a snowflake. There is no reason for anyone to be fearful of being in central London. I salute

A 16-year-old is not a child. It's an individual above the age of consent, free to date whoever she chooses. Her intimate life is no one's business.
@JuliaHB1
This phenomenon exists in the US on an even wider scale, and has plenty of woke defenders who reason that it's "only property" and that thieves need to eat. Shoplifting is a crime and shoplifters should be prosecuted. Please use your platform to hold law enforcement to account.
