Pete Alonso might be playing in his last homestand as a New York Met. He deserves a standing ovation as he’s been the greatest power hitter in Mets history regardless of your opinion of him. Whether or not we’ll see him back, the fanbase has to show him how much he means to this
@TalkinBaseball_
That quote specifically is not what people are upset about it. It’s the context of his clear lack of effort & care while he received a huge contract. He clearly lacks the respect and professionalism
Anyone crying over this deadline can get lost. Stearns did the right thing by not giving up any top prospects. The team improved, this is a wildcard team not a 100+ win team
The Mets are done, per source... no last-minute deals. Their total trade deadline haul:
-OF Jesse Winker
-RHP Paul Blackburn
-RHP Phil Maton
-RHP Ryne Stanek
-RHP Huascar Brazobán
-RHP Tyler Zuber
This fanbase absolutely LOVES to tear down young players before they get a solid chance to make a name for themselves. Not every prospect pans out but some take time to flourish. JDM is an example of this and Vientos is an example as well.
The Braves actually needed a game like this. Starter went 7 and they could get Chavez to cover an inning that didn’t matter. Now, everyone in the pen will be fresh tomorrow.
@LovelessEnt
The Mets don't have a deep roster, and the Yankees do. Payrolls may look alike, but the talent isn't there. Trust me, Met fans are insufferable as well.
Remember when fans were coming for Peterson’s head this season meanwhile he’s been pitching like an ace?? He was meant to be a
#5
starter and ppl were still clowning him !!

I’m sure he’s referring to the overwhelming majority of adults surrounding him, yelling to throw the ball. Use your brain for once

@SNY_Mets
Most fans actually like the song, but it’s totally fine you’re in the minority. Not everyone will enjoy the same music. It is subjective after all

His solo shot and double placed the Mets in a position to win. Without that who does Nimmo drive in? Just a single and then he’s left stranded? Been watching for over a decade. Not sure what you’re upset about, unless you’re not really a Mets fan
The Mets are planning on Kodai Senga’s next start to be with Triple-A Syracuse.
That could set up a return as soon as next week when the Mets host the Braves.
Ik the Mets are in a rough stretch rn but I’m curious, do you guys think the Yankees finally pull the trigger on firing Boone this year? Not sure if there are any people that think he’s a good clubhouse leader
It’s so easy to see how much Alvy is dedicated to his craft in every aspect of the game. Should be an example to follow for all young players, even some vets tbh
