I'm not a Dodgers fan, but all of the trolling of their 2020 World Series ring makes me want to root for them to win the 2024 World Series to shut up the haters.
That 2020 ring was a legitimate ring despite anybody trolling about it to make their own team look better.
Pete Rose had sex with little children and Pete Rose was actively betting on his own baseball games. Yet some people think that Pete Rose is the moral equivalency of Ohtani.
Max Scherzer helped Francisco Alvarez with his receiving and game calling. Scherzer helped a ton of pitchers like Trevor Megill with their stuff. And Max Scherzer helped the Mets get a big-time prospect with a royal last name. Scherzer deserves more credit for his Mets legacy.
After long deliberations with my psychic advisor, after meditating on the partial solar eclipse, and after reading my lunchtime fortune cookie, I have decided that whoever wins the Braves-Mets game tonight becomes my 2nd favorite team for this season.
The Mets have an advantage nobody else can really offer. Steve Cohen can have Stearns call the White Sox and eat the whole Andrew Benintendi contract (and then DFA him) to lessen the prospect cost for Luis Robert.
The Mets didn't win 8 straight games and they remain 1 game out of a playoff spot. BUT the Grimace era doesn't need to end. Grimace has represented fun times for the most interesting team in baseball. The fun doesn't need to stop for 2024. On to the next series.
"Two homers from Nolan now, and they have both been jaw dropping..."๐๐
No lies detected.
He hits. He pitches. He damages light poles.
His name is Nolan McLean.

Meet the Mets. Greet the Mets. By far the most interesting team & fanbase w/ the most memorable World Series Chip ever. The best closer w/ the most iconic intro. Arguably the best catcher & SS in the NL & maybe all of baseball. Their next WS chip will be the biggest celly ever.
I respect the Lindor haters who admit they were wrong. Dude will hit .275 with 30 homers, 100 RBIs and 30 SBs while playing golf glove defense for a playoff team.
Just 2 days later, and the Mets have now just jumped the first 4 of the 8 teams, and tied 2 others. They said it couldn't be done. Grimace said hold my shake.
When I said Nolan McLean was maybe the 1st legit two-way prospect since Ohtani (with all due respect to Brendan McKay), my mentions were filled with people saying he had a power arm and a power bat but no hit tool.
I just want to acknowledge the great work that MLB Trade Rumors has been doing for years. They are thorough and detailed with context about everything that happens in baseball. They're simply the best resource for understanding baseball moves.
Two things can be true at once:
1) Ohtani is willing to try to clear his name and his reputation, and says he will fully work with all investigations.
2) A lot of Ohtani haters will keep kicking dirt on him, fairly or not. Haters will find ways to generate content.
Trea Turner said he expects to miss at least six weeks with his hamstring injury and any return before that โwould be a win.โ Obviously, big blow for Phillies.
We are in the home stretch. Baby Jass is coming a few weeks early (he obviously wants to watch the London series!) so we are trying for a vaginal birth instead of a C-section, even though he is still huge. A couple more hours and he should be here.
The most annoying baseball fans are the ones who are always discarding someone. Baseball is a game of ups and downs. No need to constantly write something off. Grimace isn't going anywhere.
The Mets are above .500 in their last 10 games (6-4) & are 3.5 games back of the 2nd WC & 3 games back of the 3rd WC, who both have losing records. We need to stop thinking about records in the NL & realize that this is the easiest NL ever. Please hold off on selling Alonso talk.
Sometimes we all make claims that get proven right and sometimes we need to eat humble pie. Buster recently wrote an article declaring that the Mets had no pitching prospects. Buster should just take the L and eat some humble pie. This is a really bad look. Sour grapes.
Wishing Realmuto a full and speedy recovery. For the record, nobody saw Garrett Stubbs do anything to Realmuto to cause this despite Garrett's reputation for going after the legs of catchers.
J.T. Realmuto will have surgery tomorrow to repair the meniscus in his right knee, the Phillies announced Tuesday. He will be placed on the injured list.
If you're a Mets fan who has given up on this season because of some adversity, and find yourself discussing who to sell in 2 months from now, just know I'll still be here with the more resilient Mets fans who will keep supporting this team.
Thanks again for the overwhelming love & support to bring me back. I plan to follow back all you great people but Twitter is already throttling me for too many follow backs within the first 12 hours of my new account. I don't want to lose this one too, so I'll move slowly.
Over 24 hours later and Garrett Stubbs is still looking for Luis Torrens thinking he still has a chance to break up that double play. Never give up. Never let them tell you anything is too late.
Bottom line: I would rather be friends with as many fans of other teams so I can learn from them, their experiences & insights instead of just hate on people who aren't a fan of my teams. The big wave of Dodgers fan who I followed today & who followed me will be fun this season.
@mrjbwaters
Let's pretend he wasn't out by a mile, I usually see feet first or hands first, not stomach first. The intent was clearly to injure the catcher after the ball was already thrown to first.
Talent + Development + Patience. Reed Garrett may be the biggest development story of the baseball season so far. That new Mets pitching lab is cooking up some massive Ws.
Reed Garrett was a 16th round pick in 2016 by TEX
DFA'd by DET, BAL, WSH
Rule 5'd, didn't stick
2 years in Japan
Didn't make 2024 NYM Oday roster
7.11 ERA in 44.1 IP entering 2024 ...
... he has struck out 17 of 31 BF (55%) so far. What a bizarre sport this is.

Quintana has a letdown but Baty had an awakening. Mets are still in a Wild Card spot for now. There were positives to take from today, especially Danny Young stepping in as apotentialy reliable lable left handed arm as Raley's availability remains clouded.
We got the Statcast numbers for our baby boy's 35 week ultrasound. He's 99th percentile for his head, 99th percentile for his abdomen, 97th percentile for his arms & 99th percentile for his legs, with a current weight of 7.5 pounds & an estimated delivery weight of 10.5 pounds.
When the Mets were at rock bottom,I didn't see anything in the Mets that wasn't already there. I just believe that to bring out the best in anybody, you have to have their backs, & I wanted the fanbase to have their backs because I know what a fully energized Mets fanbase can do.
@JassChishomie
I owe you an apology. You saw something I didn't in the Mets. I was wrong. If they get a wildcard spot I'll find a way to embarrass myself for you. I'd pay you but this dude has no money.
When I see people personally tag Steve Cohen in their tweets offering their two cents on personnel moves I just figure that Steve collects them all in a Power Point deck for David Stearns with the title "Good Ideas For Mets Winning".
Iglesias is a positive. Always has been everywhere he's played gives his all and is good. You don't need high priced stars at every position you need good to great team guys...
@StevenACohen2
Iglesias needs to stay on this roster. He's been a breath of fresh air

the Mets were tied for the worst record in MLB in May and currently have MLBโs best in June
just 5 teams since 1900 have had the worst (or tied) win pct in MLB in a calendar month, then best (or tied) in the next month (min 15g each month):
1994 Giants: June-July
1985 Yankees:

Just in case the Marlins don't make the playoffs, I am currently choosing between a handful of likely playoff-bound teams to root for as my 2nd team. It's a toss-up between the Braves, Dodgers, Phillies or Mets.
Atlanta has arguably the best team in baseball, and arguably the best player in baseball, and arguably the best pitcher in baseball (based on expected stats) and arguably the best fans in baseball, and arguably the best owner in baseball (John Mincone).
