Remember: if you spend X for a card and then that card is reprinted and the price crashes, you didn't lose money. You only lose money the moment you *resell* that card and make less than X on it. If you don't plan to sell it, you haven't lost anything.

Wotc needs to stop removing reminder text, just had a prerelease opponent try to craft this with one merfolk (instead of all four types), apparently he’d confirmed with the judge 3 times during building too. Really feel-bad situation, props to him for handling it pretty well.
