“Every time people like Joe Rogan or Dennis Prager, who didn’t get the shots but used early treatments, assert that they had milder cases because of their choice of therapeutics, they get attacked for not choosing the sacred therapeutic.”
The one human intervention that likely would have worked is early treatment. But to this day – no matter how desperate an image they show in public – they will never turn to what actually works. They would rather lead us to hell than follow to heaven.
Dear American Christian,
I see that Joel Osteen's is the number 2 podcast for "religion and spirituality."
In the words of Bob Newhart, "Stop it!" Joel Osteen is not a Christian minister. He's a minister of health, wealth, & self-esteem, not Christianity.

The current Administration wants you to pay $5.00 a gallon or more. They are religiously committed to reducing (or possibly ending) domestic oil production. They hate your pick up. They hate your suburban house. They hate you. Pls remember that.
@RWMaloneMD
It's interesting that he doesn't conclude that you're fundamentally wrong about hesitancy but that your informed hesitancy is inconvenient for the prevailing narrative/message. Isn't that what science is supposed to do, be inconvenient?
Serious question: Why no masks or soc distance? I’m really frustrated w/Gov Newsom too but by not distancing & wearing masks isn’t GCC giving the gov’t an opportunityto ping them not for faithfulness but for defying legitimate health orders?

I'm 57. I took an undergrad degree in poli sci. I was raised a Humphrey Democrat. I've never heard an elected American officer holder say what she just said. "By any means necessary." That's a remarkable expression.
These are dads, brothers, & uncles—not super heroes but real human beings who took their lives into their hands to rush toward certain danger and possible violent death. Danger and death was potentially behind every corner. They kept pushing until they found the threat.
What I say to everyone is not to give money to addicts posing as needy people. It does not help addicts to give them money. What they need is to detox. Then they need to get sober. Giving them cash with which to buy booze/drugs only makes their situation worse.

I’ve learned to pay attention to what’s happening on the ground. Maybe it means nothing. I don’t know. It’s interesting that voters in DEN either didn’t know or care. That might mean something. Why is it problematic to pay attention to her?
@JenkinLuke
Sure, I get it, but the problem is, we aren’t Apostles. We cannot read the OT and point to Christ at will. We must only do so when we have clear proof that the text is pointing to or ultimately fulfilled in Christ lest we are guilty of gross allegory.
This is complete nonsense! There are many reasons to celebrate Reformation Day. I shall proceed to enumerate them.
First, the Reformation, symbolized by the Ninety-Five Theses (but not at all summarized by them) represented a rejection of false damnable errors.
No matter what branch of Christian you are, the proper attitude towards the Reformation is one of solemnness and sadness. Even if you think it was necessary. It just makes no sense to celebrate the fact that there are 10 thousand denominations.
@TCU
Is this a parody of a university account? In a university, by definition, there are lots of different points of view presented. There is disagreement and scholars even make, wait for it, arguments in favor of this view or that.
If a man “smacks” his wife he should be arrested & prosecuted by secular authorities and brought before the elders for ecclesiastical discipline also. If he is verbally abusive, that is also a cause for ecclesiastical discipline.
Virtue signaling is lazy but intoxicating. Doing real history, dealing with complex, fallen people in their own time and context, is hard work and thus done much less frequently and especially on social media.
Apparently preaching the gospel, administering the sacraments, catechizing the children, visiting the sick, and helping to educate future pastors and laity counts for nothing. The only thing that counts is the culture war baby!

Why is Wilson’s content content on your site? Are you unaware of his rhetoric, theology, & behavior? I’ve asked privately. Now I’m asking publicly.

Narrator: He wasn't. God the Son incarnate is at the right hand of the Father. In the Supper he feeds his flock, on his body & blood, by the mysterious work of the Spirit but the elements are not substantially changed.
Dear World,
Kenneth Copeland is a lying wolf. He has nothing to do with historic Christianity. He’s been scamming the gullible for decades. Don’t feed him.
This is why Hermeneutics (the way we interpret texts) matters. His Hermeneutic led him to the completely wong conclusion. The issue with the rich young ruler was never his $.
If a man is ever changing diapers, there is something seriously wrong with the relationship or with the order of the home. It is a sign the family has much bigger problems.
How is it not defiant? GCC agreed to masks & soc distance for 3,wks but when the city appealed & won GCC responds by defying the city re masks & distance. Agsin, why not meet the city where they can, by multiple svcs, masks, & distance? Why celebrate disobedience?
That infants are sinners wasn't invented in the 16th cent. It's in Ps 51:5. Augustine affirmed it contra Pelagius in the 5th century. It's Christian orthodoxy to teach that in Adam's fall sinned we all. We sin because we are sinners. We don't become sinners when we sin.
G3 inestimably bolstered the new Reformed coalition being built (informally) around the gathered church, gospel zeal, Sola Scriptura, Reformational conviction (no merging of Catholic & Protestant doctrine), unapologetic complementarity, & rejection of wokeness.
Watch this space.
If you don't read Greek, don't complain about mistranslations. Dr Wolf should know better but over time, scholars get used to be treated as omnicompetent. We aren't. I've been reading the Greek NT for 40+ yrs. She's completely wrong.
Hi all -- so. I skipped ahead to the New Testament, with a Koine Greek - English side-by-side literal translation, and what am I to do -- so much of the NT has been mistranslated, or, shall I say, creatively translated, in addition to the OT having often been mistranslated. Is it

Never ask, “Am I elect?”
Instead: “What did Jesus promise?”
For God so loves sinners that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Denault: "“The Baptists believed that before the arrival of the New Covenant, the Covenant of Grace was not formally given, but only announced and promised (revealed).” Distinctiveness of Baptist Covenant Theology, 62.
This is not Reformed theology.
🧵Dear Baptists, the Reformed Churches confess infant baptism. They do so because their covenant theology leads (one cov of grace, multiple administrations) them to it. You deny it, bec your covenant theology leads you to your conclusion. We have different covenant theologies.
The answer to David French, re same-sex marriage, is not Christian Nationalism, Integralism, theocracy, or theonomy. It's *nature.* French is just a typical evangelical in that regard: no category for nature. SSM is contrary to *nature.*
One of the more bizarre & troubling aspects of the ascent of Pres Obama was his connection to Ayers. It was dismissed or ignored. I lived up across the street from a guy who radicalized in the 60s & early 70s. They had big plans for us.
1982 interview w Larry Grathwohl who infiltrated the Weather Underground: "I asked, 'what is going to happen to those we can’t reeducate, capitalists?'..the reply was they’d have to be eliminated..they estimated they'd have to eliminate 25 million ppl in these reeducation centers
When a pastor who committed adultery writes, “Furthermore, I have no desire to pursue ministry of any kind” but then you see him speaking at a conference, you know what he really is.
NO ONE IS “READY” TO BE A PARENT but we do it anyway. The first rule of parenting is “Don’t murder your infant children.” After that, we do the best we can.
When I began my career as a seminary prof in '97 there was a surplus of pastors for confessional P&R churches. Not now. There's a shortage. We need pastors for church plants (home missions). We need pastors for established churches. We need pastors for foreign missions.
Hey Mom and Dad,
If you spend your Sundays with your kids on the road playing baseball games, don't be surprised when they figure out what you've taught them: the Lord's Day, ordinary means, & worship with God's people is really not very important.
Pastors, some of the most zealous, faithful, radical Christ-followers are not really into “church” (as an organization, structure, event, etc.)
Love them. Empower them.
Learn from them.
The Hebrew word אָמֵן (Amen) = “truly, surely, let it be so.” It carries a basic meaning of “reliable,” “trustworthy,” or “firm" (s.v., "Amen" Lexham Bible Dictionary). IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SEX OR GENDER.

July 19, 1692:
Puritan magistrates convict and hang five women for witchcraft in Salem, Massachusetts.
By September, 20 people had been executed on charges brought by 15 young girls.
So the Wilsonites are buying billboards in Escondido. I’m sure that will trigger a revival & glory age🤦🏻♂️😂 They would do better to repent of the Federal Vision theology, preach the law & gospel purely, administer the sacraments purely, & love their neighbors.
If you are a minister in the Protestant tradition, you are not a priest. You are a pastor, a minister but not a priest. There were priests in the Old Testament. They offered literal sacrifices. Jesus is our great high priest, who offered himself as the final sacrifice.
Dear America,
Let’s agree to do away with the expression “to love on...”.
Adding preposition is intended to intensify the verb. It doesn’t work.
That is all.
Ok people (who identify as Reformed), listen up (as all my coaches used to say): The Reformed rejected Lent for good reasons. It’s not hip, transgressive, naughty, or spiritual. It’s bondage. Don’t know why? Here you go:
Serious, non-partisan, non-political point here. Please, please, please, NEVER, EVER put your finger on the trigger of firearm that you do not intend to discharge. He’s breaking a CARDINAL rule of firearm safety. This is unsafe. Treat EVERY firearm as if it is loaded.
Today in chapel, we confessed to plants. Together, we held our grief, joy, regret, hope, guilt and sorrow in prayer; offering them to the beings who sustain us but whose gift we too often fail to honor.
What do you confess to the plants in your life?
If you're nervous or even scared, the masculine hero you need is not in Moscow, ID. He's not an ex-kickboxer living his best life now. Your hero is seated at the right-hand of God. If you're offended that I call Jesus masculine, your Christology may not be Chalcedonian.
For all the good things done in the Mars Hill podcast series, one of the biggest problems is their decision to describe MH as “Reformed” and “hardline Calvinist.” Mars Hill was never either of those two things. Ever.
Thesis: it is un-American to say that any speech that dissents from government-approved speech is disinformation. The assumption that the government is always right is itself un-American.

🧵The bottom line of the objection that "Christ is King" = "replacement theology" is that it is tantamount to saying, Reformed theology isn't Dispensationalist. That's true. It isn't. We don't see national Israel as the center of redemptive history. We think the God-Man,
It would help the evangelical discussion re church/state (e.g., masks, distancing, meeting indoors etc) to distinguish between the state's interest in regulating things *around* worship, that are common to all gatherings, and regulating the material of worship.
People who are proclaiming that God *cannot* save someone because she is too sinful have not read Augustine or Paul or David. The 1st was a sexually immoral pagan, the 2nd was complicit in murder, & the 3rd arranged one (in addition to adultery).

Bavinck is right: “Regeneration does not erase individuality, personality or character, but sanctifies it and puts it at the service of God's name.”
Grace does not destroy nature.
If your “pastor” records your phone call to him seeking pastoral counsel or to confess sin, he’s not a pastor and you’re not in a church. Get out now. Seriously. This is the sort of stuff that Jim Jones did to blackmail his followers. It’s how people ended up in Jonestown.
Church history is not a strong suit for most American Christians. They have no idea that people were killed, jailed, etc., for centuries for being the wrong kind of Christian. They don't seem to know or care that the Muscovites are planning just that.
"Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul" (1 Pet 2:11; ESV)
"But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one..." (Heb 11:16a; ESV).
To say Christians are perpetually "in the wilderness" is strange typology.
Israel wasn't supposed to be in the wilderness for more than a few months. Circling the desert is a judgment.
What sin condemns the church to remain in the wilderness for 2000 years, and counting?
