When studying Scripture, the goal is not to have more biblical knowledge - the ultimate goal should be, “how can I be more conformed to the image of Christ, how can I become more Christlike.”
God speaks to us through His Word - pay attention to what He teaches.
You'll want to read this:
A couple of days ago, my pastor was dropping off a member of our congregation at a medical appointment. However, the Lord had another appointment scheduled.
After arriving, this member's appointment was unexpectedly delayed, so my pastor went to grab
We had our first trip to the ER last night.
Our little buddy suddenly had a lot of mucus with raspy breathing and started to vomit. He then became very lethargic. He also wasn’t crying during this which wasn’t like him.
We called the doc and he said to head to the ER just to
Catholicism is so rad.
Walk into the basilica in some medieval town in the south of France and boom…
The skull and bones of Mary Magdalen, all decked out like we’re ready to battle some demons!
My son will be taught that women who wear immodest clothes in public (or social media) are women to steer clear of. They do not care for your soul.
See Proverbs 5
We misuse the word “miracle” way too much.
The virgin birth was a miracle. Getting the funds you need to buy a building is not.
Raising Lazarus from the dead was a miracle. Making it home in a bad storm was not.
The word we need to recover is “providence.”
This is seriously sad to see.
Why is it that so many Christian musicians lack discernment? (Or don’t care because they are trying to promote “unity” — which normally ends up with promoting wolves).
Wisdom wasn’t exercised here.
This is fundamentally anti-gospel.
If Jesus doesn’t change you, then He doesn’t save you. In fact, if He doesn’t change you but reveals who you’ve always been, then you didn’t need to be born again. This isn’t just bad theology, this is heretical.
Furtick is a false teacher.
I’ve noticed that many Christians who are hesitant to take a hard stance on anything are normally pretty quick to take a hard stance against those who take hard stances. 🤷🏻♂️
So… my wife,
@Lindsey_N_Eaton
& I are pretty excited! (Understatement).
Linds has been feeling pretty sick lately so she could definitely use your prayers. Morning, noon, and night sickness… 14 weeks now.
Number 1 of many to come, Lord willing. 😁
Christians should not have pronouns in their bio.
Why?
Because this endorses and approves of a worldview that is fundamentally anti-biblical and rebellious to God.
Sodom was full of all sorts of sin, but Jude also has something to say:
"just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire." (v.7)
I’m half tempted to make a bookmark that says “warning, this is a false teacher” so I can insert them in all the discounted T.D Jakes, Joel Osteen, and Joyce Myer books at my local Ollies…
Thoughts? 🤷🏻♂️
In man’s eyes, there may appear to be such a thing as an “ExChristian,” but in God’s eyes it’s, “I never knew you.”
Not a single person that Jesus died for can be lost.
The Father predestined the elect.
Christ died for the elect.
The Spirit applies redemption through faith to the elect.
To deny limited atonement sets the Trinity against itself.
The Dispensational system of theology has only been around since the 1830’s.
Be cautious of embracing doctrines that haven’t been known, taught, or believed for most of church history.
I say this as someone who used to embrace dispensationalism.
Well, I’d like to officially announce: I’ve taken a position at Zion Reformed Church (PCA) in Winesburg, OH to join the staff as an associate pastor (official title: Director of Gospel Growth).
I’m very excited for road ahead. The Lord has been so kind to us.
Every so often I’ll see a tweet from
@newvangelicals
and be reminded that they are not Christians according to the Bible.
Machen was right, Liberal Christianity is another religion.
They use the same words but use a different dictionary.
I don’t agree with MacArthur’s eschatology. I used to, but I think I align with the postmillennialism of the Puritans now.
However, here’s the deal: I will go to bat for MacArthur everyday all day.
He’s a faithful servant of Christ and I’m deeply indebted to him.
Reformed & Presbyterian Christians do not believe in “replacement theology” as many dispensationalists define.
No one was “replaced.”
We believe there is and always has been one people of God.
You became a Christian because of the work of God.
You are a Christian because of the work of God.
You will remain a Christian because of the work of God.
Going deeper into Scripture will not cause you to deconstruct. Also, there’s no such thing as going “too deep.”
Deconstruction means you’ve actually missed Scripture altogether.
It was a blessing to have our son baptized today. The Lord is so kind.
“For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” (Acts 2:39)
As my very pregnant wife and I were leaving Target a “transgender” guy came up to us and asked us if we wanted to sign a petition supporting women’s “reproductive rights.”
I recently purchased these and had one of these in my pocket. Guess what he got?
(Buying more right now).
