The clever tactic employed here is to not disclose the number of people who are coming here on other forms of immigration programs and are permanently remaining here (parole, DACA, TPS, H-1B, TN, anchor babies, etc.) so as to create the illusion immigration levels are “low”.

When people talk about the "pace" of immigration, keep in mind that *legal* immigration is very low. Every year, around 1,000,000 people legally immigrate to the US, which sounds like a lot, but is only around 1/3 of 1% of our population. It's not even 1% of the US work force.
