Senator Mike Lee asked for Unanimous consent voting on #S386 in Senate and as expected, Dick Durbin blocked it. Durbin wants to increase total number of Green cards. He knows that this can never pass. Sad day as its a deadlock again. #H1B #H4EAD

Is it better to go to Canada than to wait in the Indian EB GC queue? Canada will allow filing work permits - Details are not available yet. If you are 40+ years age + no US citizen kid + EB2/3 date is 2015 or later, you should have plan B.

It seems that senator Chuck Grassley who blocked similar green card removal bill in 2011, has been convinced to support S386 with #H1B amendment today by #immigrationvoice . It Chuck has agreed, then it has good chance of approval with #HR1044 . #H4EAD

H1B extensions will be in trouble for many people waiting in the backlog! God knows what they have planned. If the extension is denied, it will be a challenge to stay. Also, what will happen to the approved PERM and then GC? Will they narrow down their definition too?

You can maintain #H1B status along with filing #EB5 green card in US Once you get EAD (open work permit), you can choose to use either EAD or #H1B I would choose EAD as it gives you freedom to open new businesses and work on your own terms
