7/n. In conclusion, the USMLE tests your medical knowledge but mostly tests your test taking ability. You get what you put into it and since Step 1 is pass/fail, its now very accessible, even to those who have been away from med school for a while now. Drop me a dm for more info

4/n. 6 months later I sat the 8-hour exam knowing that it would hold me in good stead going into 3rd year. After the exam, that year was fairly straightforward for me academically since the Step 1 is more "difficult" than most exams that you'll do in med school (i went to leeds)

3/n. When lockdown began I was a second year student at the end of pre-clins and I was presented with a golden op to study uninterrupted for Step 1 which was the one that mattered (past tense) and tests you heavily on pre-clinical science (yes Krebs cycle I'm looking at you)...

6/n. By now Step 1, the biggest barrier to people doing the USMLE, was pass/fail and the onus has shifted to Step 2 which is a clinical exam and is a more difficult version of UK med school finals. Again after having done it my final year of med school has been relaxed...
