A day shift, followed by 4 night shifts. Late meal breaks, no meal breaks, late finishes, jobs where I've literally had to throw my entire ambulance at my patients and tinnitus from an air bag going off in my ear. This week can literally get in the sea.

There can surely be a system on emergency ambulances where we can scan the drugs that we need, straight onto our EPRFs, that books the drugs out, whilst simultaneously popping up with the JRCALC page with the dose relevant to our pt? Mental. Capacity.

Found this little aid super useful, especially for rookies like me. ROME. If pH is going one way and PaCO2 is going the other (i.e. one up, one down) = respiratory problem. If they're going the same way (i.e. both down/up) = metabolic problem. We be learning today!! ⚕️

I know that from working as a Paramedic for the last 2 years, I've become a clinician that I'm proud of; "autonomous, decisive, resourceful, outspoken, driven". And that alone makes these last 2 years worth it.

But despite this, to my patients I was Hannah, their Paramedic. & I think during this reflective phase, regardless of overstretched services, harsh shift patterns, imposter syndrome and not really knowing where I belonged, it's important to remind myself, I was their Paramedic.
