This is not surprising in the least. These people are not interested in debate or exchange of ideas. They are only interested in control.
Hey everyone, January 13 will be my last day at the University of Chicago Office of Investments. Itโs been a wonderful 12+ years and Iโm eternally grateful for the opportunity to support the mission of such a storied institution with a talented and brilliant team.
We have a new member of the household! This is Chance, a 3 year old Lab/Boxer mix. He's had a pretty tough life to this point, but we're going to fix that. He needs FHO surgery and heartworm treatment, but his prognosis is excellent and we fell in love with him instantly!
Well... Today was the day. Today we said goodbye to Socks. He wasn't even 4 years old yet, but lymphoma came and stole him from us. Bye, buddy, see you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Having a dog is literally the best... finding out he has inoperable tumors is the worst. Our poor boy Dozer is not going to be with us much longer. He's been a source of unconditional love for our family for 6 years, and we're going to miss him so much.
Feb 27 I will start my new role as Managing Director, Investment Research & Engagement at my alma mater,
@UofI_Foundation
. Itโs a super exciting time to join the investment office there โ itโs a great team and I canโt wait to roll up my sleeves and help build out the program!
I screenshotted this because I can't believe it's still up after two hours. "Most experts" know what a bond yield and its relationship to price and total return is before making pronouncements about it.
Today is D-Day... We are saying goodbye to our good boy Dozer, who has been playing ball with our family for years. We'll see you at the Rainbow Bridge, buddy, tennis ball at the ready.
This is my dad. 9 years ago today he was released from the unknowable suffering that Alzheimerโs causes. He had just turned 71 a few weeks earlier. I still miss him every day. Canโt believe itโs been that long. Love you Dad.
ICYMI, last week I got elected to serve a 3-year term on the
@CFA_Chicago
Board of Directors. Thanks so much to everyone who voted! I'm looking forward to working with the Board and other members to carry out the mission of the Society and of the CFA membership at large!
On this gorgeous November day, your friendly reminder to wear sunblock in the sun, folks. I always do, but I wasn't always so disciplined. Thus, my first (and hopefully last) brush with cancer.
(1/3) Sigh... so you're telling me that a globally diversified portfolio across multiple asset classes, public and private, did not provide as high of a return as a portfolio of publicly traded U.S. stocks and U.S. bonds from June 2009-June 2019.
Folks, one of my pups isn't doing so hot, and we will get test results Monday. If you could spare prayers, positive thoughts, vibes, etc., we'd appreciate it. Thanks.
