Midweek mission... How to get out of the Y6 classroom rigged with red woollen laser beams...

Had no idea I was being filmed 🙈
1st official day as Deputy Principal
@Oasisacademywoo
- beyond delighted and absolutely ready to make a difference to the bright and beautiful learners.
A child's life chance - it's our privilege as educators to ignite that life chance with belief in their powerful potential ✨
This symbolises equality can be found in diversity. Meghan redefining 'princess' - independent, strong and beauty comes from your worth. Harry redefining a 'prince' - strength can be found through emotion, care and compassion. This marriage will change the world 💕
#RoyalWedding
You know you're part of a true team when the Prinicipal comes into build an archway for the KS1 library whilst you sort all the books... Still a few things to do but it's definitely becoming a place to nurture a love of reading and empower our young learners ✨

Probably one of the displays I'll be the most proud of ever... celebrating our cultural heritage and diversity through global understanding, story writing and reading aloud.
Can't wait for the chn to see it and continue to add to it 💝

It was lovely seeing Marilyn M and

I didn't think I could appreciate an
@ed_vere
book more than How to be a Lion but The Artist is just as special.
What is an artist? To me, an artist awakens imagination - ❤️ full and 🧠 open, they capture beauty seen and unseen.
The artist's moments are captured wonderfully.
Reading about reading 🤓
Fluency can be seen as the bridge between decoding and comprehension 🌟
Prosody is important as it can reflect linguistic features.
Alphabetic principle 🌟
Precise use of terms.
Multifaceted approach to assess reading is key bc reading is multifaceted.
Very proud of my little sister - she is a rarity in the Publishing profession and is committed to raising awareness and increasing representation. Would truly appreciate your support for her on LinkedIn (link below) or here 💜

Caroline Flack was beautiful. She wasn't perfect.
Meghan Markle is beautiful. She isn't perfect.
Perfection is dangerous. The perception that a woman is perfect is dangerous. It dehumanises, breeds envy - bullying.
Women are humans, not to be demonised or compared. Be kind...
Only a few weeks left of this relentless half term...so to keep me going, I've decided to hang up my newest dress in readiness to wear for one of my mini-breaks I've treated myself to 🤍
We've got this!
Proud and bursting with joy
@TeresaCremin
Thank you for the opportunity to share the beautiful journeys of the children we serve. I'm very proud 'Declan's' story is part of this treasure trove of knowledge, theory, practice and inspiration.

Pandora's Box opens. An emotional storm ensues. Silence. Kindness. The sky sings with colour. Felix is free.
Simple yet full of depth. Patterns of nature weave through the images and words. An important story.
Happy Birthday

This book proves that no one is too old for a picture book! My Y5 and 6 chn absolutely adore this book... So much so it's our daily story escape and each time we read it, it's even more joyous!!

Beaming with pride... The winning entries for our whole school writing competition inspired by the beautiful story Bloom 🌸
Books and poems published in different ways. But themes of love, kindness and belonging run through all entries 🥰

A boy in my beautiful class told me yesterday, 'You're better than Jack Grealish, Miss'... Don't think there's a better level of appreciation to receive from a 6 year old child.

Started gathering a few stationery gifts I received from my Y2s ready for September and have only just seen what these pencils have printed on them. It's made me a little tearful. Really hope the lovely, little girl boss who gifted these to me has a set for herself!

I'm loving creating a thread...
As teachers and educators, our love, encouragement, hope and warmth does radiate... Be it online or in the classroom...
Teaching at its heart is about relationships and connectedness.
This 👇🏼 is a fact.
#RENDBham
was a very special evening.
A privilege to listen to
@Malala
's father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, talk about girl's rights and women's rights. *And* the importance of enabling girls and women to speak up! Having a voice is a humanising, liberating right - every girl's right.
Context is a key. Reading chn's books alongside context rich books (not sure how else to describe them) is a must as I grow as an educator. The stories we share with children do evoke a deep understanding... Words hold meaning for us all. We need to understand what and *why*
Happy New Year, beautiful readers. You've made 2020 all sorts of beautiful.
THREAD: books that have this 👇🏼 message woven through - harnessing the power of reading to enable us as we move forward.
Hopes for 2021 ✨

has a firmly rooted place in my heart but this is probably one of the most important books to be published this year. What's magical is that many more stories will materialise because of it.
These are my 4 standout chapters 💜
