Our community has wrestled with the Reservoir Park and Recreation Center Project, known to most as McMillan, for decades. Yet, instead of dividing us, it brought us closer together. We learned to disagree respectfully and remain friends. It’s a simple concept, but rare to find.

DC police were out of their vehicles walking and engaging with residents along MLK Ave today. I had to stop Officer Joe Bruno and ask him what was up. I’m glad I did!
Officer Bruno told me that the police department recently rolled out a program called, “The Business Beat”,
DC is filthy. It’s frustrating for all of us. Everywhere you look there’s trash big and small, overgrowth, rusty signs and light poles. While I have had success with 311, I have also had failures.

Reservoir Park is here! I’m beyond excited. I’m exhausted. And I’m just so thankful to everyone who has been involved in making this new chapter in DC come to life.
DC, are you ready? I no longer hold onto the belief that I’ve witnessed all there is to see at this location.
Each visit to McMillan unveils a new thoughtful addition. This time it was the repurposed use of underground columns as benches throughout the grounds.
