Enabler of artists & makers. Wooden boats, electric vehicles, solar PV, fancy cameras, yurts and domes, Iceland, high performance computing. Opinions my own.

I’ve been dabbling in various structured light scanning and photogrammetry systems since I used a Nikon 5000ED to get high resolution scans of slow black and white film, the goal being to analyze the hull shape on wooden boats.

At 21kT for Fat Man, we are looking at a factor of ~1,000. Not 25,000. Admittedly, scale is hard with that sort of thing.

All well and good until.. you calculate that all the electrons (assuming each can have a binary state) in the universe passing at the highest theoretical bandwidth still can’t extract that size before the heat death of the universe.

Many early photos were around 20mp equivalent. Large format slow films were higher. It wasn’t until the mid and late 20th century that photography got cheap enough to be casual, but the cost of it being casual was that pictures were made with much smaller negatives. 110 was

Twittber is a global platform, but the US audience needs to hear that because many places here have done a poor-to-abysmal job dealing with the pandemic. We’re reaping the poison sowed in 2016. What comes next? Preparedness and actionable planning help with getting over anxiety.

The vast majority of people who say he’s incompetent are those who disagree with him politically. Similar to the morons who say Kamala slept her way to the top; one can spot signs pretty easily when looking for signal in the noise.

“could have killed her”
If something there was going to kill her, it would have been hitting her head on the corner of the bar. That could have happened when she struck him, too. If your point is “a man shouldn’t kill a woman that slaps him”, fine. This video is not that.

There is an H2 station north of downtown Hartford. I asked an employee at the mini mart there how often people use it. She’s worked there 5 years (close to the whole time it’s been open) and she can’t remember ever seeing it in use. You can buy a gently used Mirai for like

Unlikely it was CO2. May have been CO. With CO2, your discomfort becomes acute before any chance of passing out. You would even wake up if asleep.

My best guess:
The clear liquid is actually a gradient of polar and non polar fluids with the same refractive index (but different densities) as one another. They separate more slowly than the plastic after agitation.

It isn’t though! NACS isn’t just a little better and a little further ahead. CCS stations suck and cost more, and the vehicle side system costs more. It was a massive fuck up by SAE. It will literally be in textbooks.

I’m white and I’m always trying to gauge whether guys actually know what they are doing or just had enough money to buy a boat. The latter category say things like “I think the GPS just needs a minute to get the correct location” and “I didn’t know that could start a fire..”

The point stands though, and doubly so for places that get a lot of snow and or a lot of sun. Yes, the PV on site won’t be much. But the value of the shade/shelter will be significant.

The fact that people can’t take water through after demonstrating it is harmless (by taking a sip) should tell you that the security theater is really about getting you to spend the $4.50 on a water or $7.95 on coffee (or both) once you’re in the terminal.

Niggardly. I’ve been assured there is zero etymological connection to TNW, but the fact that people don’t know that… tends to make it de facto problematic.

I would ask “If I do a background check, is there anything I’ll find that you’d like to tell me about now?”
If a late 20s aged person has a DUI from 5-10 year ago, we can talk about it. If a 34 year old has one from 18 months ago, it would be a steeper hill to regain my trust.

One which replicates the experience of being born? Because that was the vibe I got and frankly it is creepy in an ad. Also, still too early in the pandemic to tell people to go have some beers with friends. Just irresponsible AF.

Toyota survival is worse than 50/50 at this point. They need 5 years to get to where Tesla was 5 years ago. Acquisition in 7 years for less than their current value is a possibility. Sounds crazy, but that’s the cost of thinking passenger cars would use high pressure H2.

So is there a scrap metal yard located next to the airport? Because I feel like they probably could get a few thousand pounds of aluminum every month or so, with a minimum of travel involved for pickup.

If that is true, you might be medically interesting. For the 99%* of us who have, it can be extremely unsettling if it comes on strongly enough.
