I applaud @LucidMotors for the bold new proportions of the Gravity. With miniaturized drive units,they don’t need long hoods anymore. Thus a larger % of the footprint is the cabin, unlike other car makers who still need long hoods (& small cabins) bcos their motors r still big.

5yrs ago @Tesla showed us the ride sharing app that all FSD equipped Tesla owners can use to send our Teslas on robotaxi service. Does someone know where I can download this app? That’s the only thing keeping me from $30k/yr/car extra income

Just this Sunday my neighbor (who happens to b a serial founder) asked if he should consider upgrading frm his Tesla Model S to Etron. I asked him to consider test-driving a Lucid Air. Met him this morning. 1st thing he said was “my Lucid Air Touring is arriving this month”.

My prediction is that Lucid Gravity’s bold proportions will spawn some copycat short hood SUV designs in the industry. EVs don’t need long hoods. But,so far, others hv been too timid to exploit the fact that electric DUs are much smaller than IC engines.

To understand what a monumental difference this makes - imagine replacing a corvette engine with an engine with same pwr, but 2.5x heavier, twice as large & see how every single aspect of the car is ruined - handling, acceleration, efficiency, cabin space, cost of other parts etc

On the left is @Tesla ’s best drive unit tech-Plaid dual motor capable of 796hp On the right is @LucidMotors Sapphire’s million mile dual motor capable of 1340hp. It is 2.5x more power dense than Tesla’s (yes,u saw that right, 2.5x more!) This is what tech superiority looks like

Most simply assume @Tesla is the leader in EV technology. There used to be a time when this was true. But no more. @LucidMotors have surpassed them & then some. It’s understandable that Tesla fans r in denial. But reality seems to be slowly sinking in.

Did I mention the @LucidMotors Air is the most aerodynamic production car in the world? It has an astonishing Cd of just .197! Not surprising, since the chief aerodynamicist at Lucid was the lead aerodynamicist for the 4x championship winning Redbull formula 1 car

Did you know? (I know most don’t) The most efficient, smallest, lightest car that @Tesla has made in its history is LESS efficient & has less range than the first car from @LucidMotors - which is much larger, luxurious and with wider tires.

I am absolutely all for Tesla working on FSD as long as it’s done safely in controlled environments. What I am not for, however, is selling something to customers claiming it’ll do something it doesn’t. Design->improve->finish->sell. Not sell->develop->hope it works.
