By having so many more riders on the SkyTrain than the Light Rail in Portland Vancouver has managed to seriously shift the dynamic towards investing in more public transit. Thatโ€™s impossible for politicians to ignore when you have a transit system doing a million trips a day!

We only allow scooters to go 10-12 mph, with geofenced zones limiting speeds in sensitive areas further, and they result in <10 deaths a year. Why do we allow cars to go 100, or over the speed limit at all, when speeding causes the majority of the 40,000 auto deaths a year??

A nasty accident just occurred on the Valencia center bike lane where the driver of a giant SUV made a sudden u-turn across the center lane taking out a biker who appears to possibly be a good delivery fellow. The biker appears to be in shock and was spitting up blood.
