I was soo homesick, I hugged a VRIC volunteer and started crying, she took me to her home, put henna on my hands, served me the best masala chai Ive had in my life. I am an IMG, an aspiring surgeon and yes I cry when I spend two eids in a row away from home. Eid Mubarak!!

Advice to med students on which specialty to choose? The preferences should be based on your interest,passion for the field instead of monetary gain. I have seen physicians burn out when their choice of field does not align with their personalities and interests.

@AsmaHumayun I did CPR and shrouding of my Aunt, who practically raised me, gave a 9hr long exam 2 weeks after it. Went back to work and felt fine for about 3months after which I started collapsing, took me a year to recover. Had zero family support and took myself to the therapist
