Happy International Couchsurfing Day! It's our 14-Year Anniversary, and today we're looking back at how far we've come over the years. It wouldn't have been possible without our global community of travelers and hosts. We're grateful for each and every one of you! 🙌

We use Google's location database on the Couchsurfing website, who appears to be using the ISO naming convention for countries. That being said, we completely understand that it shouldn't be displayed this way and will do our best to update the name as soon as possible.
Travel allows you to learn, to understand, and to accept. It opens your mind, introduces new perspectives, and lets you see the beauty in all our differences. ✈️

There are many apps to find a date. We are not one of them. Any romantic or dating behavior on Couchsurfing is a violation of our terms of use and may result in your account being permanently removed from our community.
"My first CS experience in Thailand with a super host named Jikky. She was arranging an "Indian Festival" at her home with some of friends who love India. She invited me and though I couldnt attend that event, I spent a day with Jikky and her mom. Thanks to CS for connecting us."
"Solo travel is one of the best ways to meet people. In fact, having the chance to cross paths with other like-minded people is one of the top reasons to solo travel."

Due to COVID-19 Couchsurfing will soon be unable to meet our financial obligations. We are asking for member contributions on a monthly or annual basis to keep Couchsurfing alive. This contribution is required to access Couchsurfing.
Couchsurfers share their homes, cities, and lives in profound and meaningful ways, making travel anywhere in the world a truly social experience. 💙

"For 9 years I traveled the world. My greatest discovery was Couchsurfing. Hospitality is the basis to be able to connect, where cultural exchange unites worlds and when everything makes sense. Thanks to this community, I have known the world from a unique and incomparable side."
"I tried hangouts for the first time and ended up with 10 new friends and the light show of the Eiffel tower. It couldn't have been better. I'm so happy about a platform like this where I can find like-minded people with an open heart and the big love to travel"
"We made a group of Couchsurfers in Egypt and we meet every week. For the meeting this week we visited a sound and light event. It was an amazing event and after the event we went to a cafe with pyramid views and started talking about our travels, experiences and future plans."
"We always say that the best way of travelling is to get in touch with locals who give you great perspectives and you can experience some amazing things with them. Exactly this happened to us with Javo, Diana and their lovely family."
"I stayed with my CS host (Thibaub) for 3 nights in Cinque Terre. I was his first couchsurfer and we did a lot of activities in the area. For him it was a great opportunity to connect with other cultures and for me it was the best way to discover this region with a local friend."
