Great to have conversations around my qualitative study exploring the perceptions of PrEP amongst gay and bisexual men in the U.K.
It’s sexual health week, so let’s talk about it!
I’ll start: my name is Anthony and for me, sexual health is about having the sex I want, while keeping my partners and I happy and healthy! That’s why I choose to take PrEP and test regularly 💊
What about you?

This time presenting a quantitative exploration of psychosocial influences on PrEP acceptability. Great to discuss how we should consider intricacies of identity and resilience when designing messaging to ameliorate PrEP uptake!
What a whirlwind 3 days representing
@preptrackapp
at the
@BritishHIVAssoc
Spring Conference! So many amazing conversations with amazing people and a wealth of knowledge and discussion 😁 cannot wait to blog all about it and incorporate it into my research as well!

Always a privilege to discuss research I’m involved in, reviewing the institutional barriers to

Me doing qualitative interviews: omg yasssss, I should totally do a podcast, I love this. 💅🏻
Me, transcribing said interviews and having to listen back to my own voice: Omg ew I am never speaking out loud again… ever! 🫢
Another wonderful (yet busy) day at the
#AIDS2024
conference!
Excited to be presenting my posters tomorrow and Thursday.
Highlight: receiving one of these amazing stickers from

I appreciate it’s immensely privileged to have the unconditional love from a mum who is so supportive of who I am… But I am so in awe of this woman who actively takes the opportunity to stand up for the rights of my community and I! Love you mum 🥰

My sister is upstairs on FaceTime to her fiancé, singing to my nephew and saying goodnight… I’m downstairs, single, alone, eating cake for dinner, thinking about how I ended up like this 😮💨🤣
Do I have any gay or bisexual men following me who are NOT taking PrEP and are single/poly/open? If so and you would love to help my research pls DM me 🙏🥺
Who’d have thought doing my PhD would also result in my debut on live TV 😆 thanks
@emma_caldwell_
for a great chat and thanks to

for having me on! Shout out of course to

and

for all your support and helping my share my story far and wide!
They say a PhD is a marathon not a sprint! While I can’t run a marathon yet, I did complete my goal of a 5K by end of May; and in many ways it really is symbolic of my PhD journey so far.
🤩 academic Twitter is the best! Thank you so much for all your help and participation!
I am about finished with data collection! Although I have a slight skew towards people who do not take PrEP!
So any PrEP users who haven’t taken part, pls do 🥺👉👈

Hi Twitter 👋 I am moving on to a second phase of my research and need some volunteers for a focus group exploring perceptions of HIV. If you are keen and based in the U.K. and a gay bisexual man who has sex with men, please dm me 😄
I never understood why my mum used to cry when she saw me on stage… until today 😭
Not ashamed to say I was sobbing as this incredible woman walked across the stage, graduating with a 1st Class BA in education
I am one proud son and forever inspired! Congratulations, Mum 💕
Well after my TV debit I guess it turns out I just have a face for radio 😝 thank you
@BBCNottingham
for having me on the show! Also a huge thank you to
@veritycowley
for the amazing chat, allowing me to discuss my research, and making my radio debut so enjoyable! 📻 🏳️🌈

yesterday! Feeling inspired and ready for my PhD 💪🏻
Well, I did a jump split for the first time in a hot second yesterday and while I may have ripped a hammy, I did NOT rip my jeans! So I’m counting that as a win 😌
What an honour it was to be part of such an exciting and thought provoking campaign.

Nobody wakes up one day and decides to be a researcher.
It starts with one person seeing a problem and having the courage to do something about it❤️
Forget lab coats and research papers 🥼📰 It's time to get personal.

Overwhelmed with the response so far 🤩 but still recruiting for my current study looking to help understand PrEP usage amongst gay and bisexual men!
I would especially love to hear from those who do NOT currently take PrEP!

A final thing I forgot to mention in the actual session but is a hard-learned lesson: in academia, you will always be behind. There's always something else you could work on. So, choose to be behind w/ a life outside of work, good sleep, etc. rather than behind & miserable. /fin
This is an incredibly helpful book and I use it as a PhD candidate as well as for guidance for when I lecture.

Despite being far from beach body ready, I’ve decided that cutting out fizzy drinks (the one thing that brings me joy in this train wreck of a world) amidst trying to juggle my PhD and other various projects is not going to happen this side of summer… and I’m ok with it! 🥤😌
Ensuring the crews have the right facilities to rest is crucial in us delivering helicopter cover 24/7. Between taskings, crews can rest in state-of-the-art Kotobuki sleep capsules, which allow them to control lighting and sound when resting between night missions.
Anyone and everyone based in the UK and confident reading and writing in English can participate. It is part of a larger set of studies hopefully helping improve the uptake and awareness of PrEP 😁 Thanks in advance for all your support! (It is really quick, I promise)
I’m 27, can’t afford a mortgage, and my bedding is from IKEA… but no, I still won’t add you on Snapchat. Yes, we exist too.

Well turns out the best way to learn really is to teach! I mean, I didn’t expect my first ever experience of using R would be while trying to teach some fiesty first year undergrads but here we are 🥲🥲🥲
Can someone much smarter than I come up with a solution to the lengthy wait time for peer reviews? If money is not an option (yet) there still surely should be some actionable change that can occur?
I may have already accepted the unconditional offer but changing my bio made it all that more real! I still can’t believe it, but I will be starting my PhD journey with

my friend was completing your online questionnaire ahead of a 360 Health Check.
He contacted me to express disappointment at this page, and especially the last line.
This is outdated and wrong. A person with an undetectable viral load CANNOT transmit HIV. 1/2
Is drinking from the cold water tap in a bathroom an irrational ick of mine? Or is there genuine cause for going ALL the way to the kitchen when I need a glass of water before bed?
