@TomLyonsBiz
Maybe Marty paid for it himself? Can we focus on the big stuff and not grudge a guy who gave up his time for free and who travels the country to cover GAA with no car allowance.
@MichaelWarbur17
The movie "Parkland" gives a very good account of the events from the hospital's emergency room's perspective. Just a caveat about point 4, maybe the ascendency happened in the hospital, but Lydon Johnson was sworn in on air force 1.

Comparing house prices in rural locations to a house in a commuter town near a capital city isn't a great comparison.
There's plenty of cheap affordable housing in rural Ireland if you want it. The problem is most young people don't want to live there, as the jobs are in cities.
“And there I am now, and I’m the King and it’s fucking raining. And the horses are shitting everywhere. And it’s my special day and I’m fucking sick of it already. Every fucking time there’s something on, I have to go through this shit and I’m fucking shit sick of it.”
@BackpackerFI
It's worth also considering that Nurses, doctors, teachers, police officers need to get paid. Schools and hospitals need to be built and maintained. Military needs to get funded. There 's a reason why you pay tax.
@JamieBrysonCPNI
71% of the people of Northern Ireland voted for the Belfast Agreement 25 years ago. The DUP opposed it then and didn't sign up to it and still oppose it now.
They need to move on.
@JamieBrysonCPNI
73% of 184,000 DUP voters don't support a framework agreed between the UK with a population of 67m and the EU with a population of 447m.
@sophiegrenham
I don't think it's a right of passage, more of a post LC celebration. After my LC I went to London for the Summer and worked on a building site, a real rite of passage.

Harvesting peat or cutting turf from a bog, has been done for centuries, in Ireland, Scotland and other northern Europe countries.

Executed by the new Irish Free State, during the civil war that followed Ireland's independence. His son would go on to become President of Ireland. You can follow his great grandson.
Today

released the Erskine Childers Death centenary stamp, first day cover, and sheet. A big honour for our family. Thx to

and all at AnPost.
Both Father & son now have official stamps, which is humbling and moving.
See pics.

Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall
I'd love to turn you on"

In terms of what he has achieved and his influence, yes.
1 Trillion dollar car company, reinventing the driver experience and putting it up to incumbents.
First private launch sending astronauts to the ISS, first reuse of rocket boosters. Putting his money where his mouth is.

Of the 8 substitutes, 7 are forwards and 1 back. It's risky cause if more than 1 back gets injured, you don't have a proper replacement. Its also a real statement of intent, and plays to S. Africa's strength. They have huge forwards that can out muscle most teams.

Didn't we pay a similar levy for AIB's near collapse back in the 80s? Aren't we still paying that in some shape or form? You know the bank we had to bail out again in 2009. The bank that the Taoiseach wants to have bonuses restored to.

Yes Owen, gerrymandering, bigotry, religious discrimination, sectarianism, B Specials and one party unionist rule for 50 years was all made up.
@dublinmarathon
6,000 no shows at the start line this year and a cut off date for next year's entry, 3 days after this year's race, is just ridiculous.
@ElmaRyder
The reason he was to speak on the BBC was to pray tribute to Shane on the day of his funeral. Not to critique whether he was a better songwriter than The Beatles or the Stones. 🙄
@CatharineHoey
The GFA should have duped no one.
The Windsor Framework has nothing to do with Irish Unity. An agreement between UK and EU to help implement Bréxit.
A great Irish poet and singer left us today.
She was beautiful, courageous and wore her heart on her sleeve. She was before her time.
Nothing will ever compare to Sinéad O’Connor.
Rest easy Sinéad.

The problem is having a board in the first place. A bunch of political appointees who have no day to day involvement in the project, and are powerless to do anything on the project.
@aoifegracemoore
A lot of goodwill built up in years after the GFA, seems to be unravelling very quickly. Dup going back to their tried and trusted tribal politics in the run up to assembly elections.
@mickthehack
Most airlines have a 20kg limit on a checked bag. 16kg of cocáine means you essentially had a suitcase full of drugs. How does someone board a flight originating in the USA with a suitcase full of drugs?

I've have never seen a broadcaster / journalist use a touch screen /interactive map so often without messing up or getting lost. He must have spent 4 years practicing
@TheSundayGame
Great to hear the Derry and Monaghan management talk about their game plans, disappointment and their intent on playing to win. Far from the narrative that at the semi final stage with 4 teams left it was all about Dublin and Kerry.
@EwanMacKenna
In Italia 90, we didn't win a game in 90 minutes. Outside a penalty shootout, we scored 2 goals. Had a very high profile spat between a TV pundit and the Manager. The team came home to huge hero's welcome.
